WORST COMPANY TO WORK WITH

I have had the absolute worst experience with this company. My employer provides pet insurance through Nationwide which is why I chose them in the first place but that was the biggest mistake ever. I made my FIRST round (yes 1st round) of policies through nationwide and provided my employee ID for payroll deduction. 1 out of 3 policies lapsed because "I did not enroll through my employer" so the payroll deduction could not be made (EVEN THOUGH I PROVIDED MY EMPLOYEE ID FOR DEDUCTIONS). Tell me why my other two policies are perfectly fine and active? Throughout the 2 months of going back and forth I have had a representative tell me that Nationwide is fully in the wrong and made the mistake of not directing me to my employer and because of this, I didn't have to backpay the months the policy lapsed. I called them two weeks later to ask for an update and a new representative was now telling me that I needed to backpay the lapsed policy to reopen it. I refused to backpay it and told them to cancel it so I could make a new policy THROUGH my employer's website. I made 3 new policies through my employer and planned to keep the original 2 open so that my dogs were covered between the activation periods. I got confirmation emails of the new policies and everything seemed to be fine. My dog gets seen by a vet and I go to file a claim and now they are advising me that I can't have two policies open and that I needed to cancel one. If I were to cancel the original policies, they would have to go through the underwriting process again and risk not being covered for what they were recently seen by the vet. They would also not be covered till the new activation date which was January. In addition to this, they rep said that I may run into more problems with the new policies because the employee ID was incorrect EVEN THOUGH I SIGNED UP THROUGH MY EMPLOYER'S WEBSITE. Because of this she asked me to give my social security over the phone. I asked if they were ever going to notify me of this problem and request my social security through an email and they said no which means that they would have probably canceled the new policies due to the wrong Employee ID and NOT NOTIFY THE POLICY HOLDER. On top of all of this, the supervisor I spoke to was unprofessional, not caring and polite at all. This has been the worst experience ever.

Great value

Ive been checking around for company's offering more coverage for less then what I was currently paying. Nationwide was the company that kept coming up and coming up big for savings on pet insurance. Look into nationwide it just might be right for you aswel.

Nationwide needs to change its practice when you upgrade policies

Nationwide provides a valuable service to pet owners. My complaint is that my dog currently has an existing policy and I wanted to upgrade the policy. I applied for the newer, more expensive policy but was advised that they needed to cancel my current policy in order to process the new (more expensive) policy. So, my pet is now uninsured for the entire month of December until my new policy kicks in on Jan. 1. That is a terrible practice and even worse customer service -- the only way I can upgrade my pet's policy is by leaving them uninsured for one month. That practice needs to change.

I won't know until I actually USE the insurnce. I hope I don't need to use the coverage. I do think it is expensive, but I guess that is everything and people should just work until they die to pay for a decen tlive

Pets best has the worst service I ever had, and I am 76 years old. In short they will find ways not to pay your claims. I never would use them for my pet insurance.
