Trupanion pets lead longer happier lives.1 Pets insured with Trupanion lived longer than pets without Trupanion because pet parents didn’t have to worry about the cost of the care their pet needed. Depending on the plan Trupanion covers up to 90% of eligible expenses, has unlimited payouts-always, and can pay your vet bill, within seconds, at time of checkout, so all you pay is your portion (anything not covered by Trupanion). Customer service process is BRUTAL
Trupanion’s customer service process is so brutal. They changed my policy with no notice or explanation. When I followed up, I chatted each time with a polite but unreasonably detached-from-the-past-conversations agent who promised they would get it fixed. The next conversation with a new agent would start anew, they would introduce a new step or piece of information or reason why things weren’t progressing that no one had ever mentioned before, and confirmed that the person before them did nothing to act on the thing they said they would do.
Unbelievable gaslighting and incompetence in the process. It must be their shtick to get rid of clients with payable claims- drive them to insanity until they give up.

Very disappointed with customer service…
Very disappointed with customer service since I signed up in October. I haven’t even had a claim yet. After several emails they are unwilling to answer questions regarding coverage and keep spewing general legal jargon. I’m getting the impression they will find every way to deny a claim. They are completely overpriced as well. I’ve also received conflicting and incorrect information in the past over the phone. I’m really frustrated and ready to cancel.

Trupanion pet Insurance ensured my 12 year old dog got prompt and thorough care.
Trupanion pet Insurance ensured my 12 year old dog got prompt and thorough care. He randomly developed a Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus late at night knowing we had insurance coverage for what ever the vet needed to do I was able to tell the Vet to do EVERYTHING they could do to save my babies life. He survived the sugery and was in the hospitals ICU for 2 days and 2 nights. They covered everything!! We paid the emergancy vet fees, the deductible and 10%, Trupanion covered everything else including the perscription dog food and all the medications. I could not be any happier with the service we received from Trupanion . They saved my dogs life.

I would give it 0 stars if possible
I would give it 0 stars if possible. I did the 30 day trial, and I had multiple claims put in and they didn't cover a single damn thing. This insurance company is a waste of time and money. The only way you can possibly benefit from these insurance companies is if you put your pet under a policy right at birth other than that, you're screwed.

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.
Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
