Paid for the wrong claim
Submitted a claim and they processed it as a different claim with a smaller payment. Their mistake, but they refused to pay the difference until it gets processed again. 3 weeks.

Healthy paws has been absolutely wonderful. I had a very sick dog who I was able to give the necessary care for without thinking twice. The claims dept has been super fast absolutely no issues. I couldn’t have taken care of him properly without healthy paws

MetLife Pet Insurance is not honest
MetLife Pet Insurance is not honest. They will take your money and find every excuse to deny your claim. Do not use MetLife Pet Insurance! First they will say it’s past the time period. Then they’ll say it’s not prescription food when receipt clearly states prescription food for medical necessity. Then they’ll say prove it’s prescription after the receipt clearly states it is and is directly from vet with vet letter head. Even after getting a note from vet stating it’s prescription food they’ll deny. They say it’s pre existing and not covered. My policy states prescription food is covered and I was verbally told it would be covered. MetLife pet insurance will find an excuse (in some way) to not uphold their end. It’s better to save your money. I spent $10k with them and they wouldn’t process a minimal amount of prescription food purchases directly from my vet when the policy clearly is to cover it.

They are quick to take your money and sign you up but trying to cancel the policy its incredibly difficult. Spent over $7700 in 2 years for 2 dogs and didnt cover what we needed. I could save $42000 in 10 years for the BIG medical bills they cover. Better I just pay out of pocket
