Terrible claim submission process and huge price hikes

I will never use Healthy Paws again. The monthly rates increase a ridiculous amount with no correlation to number of claims, etc. Submitting a claim is very difficult, keep needing more information. Overall a terrible company.

Excellent Experience

Have had HP for several years but was never happier to have them than when one of my dogs was diagnosed with cancer this year. The the claim filing UI is simple and the process from filing to reimbursement is generally rapid. And their customer service has been absolutely delightful the handful of times I've had to discuss a claim. Highly recommended.

Waste of money

I have been paying 52$ per month for 4 years for my small dog. While trying to submit claims I quickly realized there would be a yearly 200$ deductible and nothing routine would be covered. I continued to be a member thinking that if something were to happen I would be covered. My dogs teeth were overcrowded and the vet thought he would have to pull a few of them. During the dental, it was discovered that my dog already had an infection and 31 teeth had to be pulled. He also had to return the next day for an emergency visit. I spoke to one representative a couple of days later telling me I had to contact the vets office and have all of the notes from the doctor and 4 years worth of records submitted. I complied. Today, when I called to see the status of my claim, the claim had been closed. After calling another customer service rep…who was very sweet, I was informed that no dental is ever covered unless it was a traumatic injury. I have cancelled this policy. My bills for this procedure were 800$ and not one dime will be sent. This company is not the one you want….please continue to search for better pet insurance.

Terrible customer service-wouldn’t cancel my account

I’m mad and So here’s the story. Since this pet insurance doesn’t cover basically anything except emergencies (which DOES NOT include ginigivitis-go figure), I decided to cancel and switch providers. calling them got me nowhere since no one picked up the phone ever except once after a very very long time on hold.so I decided to send an email after discovering on their website that the best way to get in contact and to unsubscribe and remove your account is by email. I sent one awhile ago. I got 2-3 automated responses over a period of weeks saying something along the lines of “a real person will get back to you soon”. My email was to cancel my account. Long and behold, the day comes for my bill, weeks later, and I just got charged. I am planning to call soon to get a refund and have them stop charging me. They are completely unresponsive and I encourage everyone that actually wants good customer service or even for the smallest claim to go through to pick a different provider. I can’t tell you how frustrating this has been and still is until I get my refund and have the account closed. For the record, there is no other way to cancel this account except by the email provided on their website describing what needs to be in the email to cancel it.
