AVOID HEALTHY PAWS PET INSURANCE

Whatever you do for your pets in terms of Insurance DO NOT GO WITH HEALTHY PAWS OR CHUBB CORPORATION We have been with Healthy Paws Pet Insurance for years but……………. We’ve been thinking of cancelling the insurance due to their high increases yearly and we almost did cancel it but decided to wait. The HEALTHY PAWS insurance states on their site that you can make changes to the policy on your own, in order to lower the premium by increasing the deductible or changing the amount of coverage. I knew they were going to increase the policy in two months as they do yearly in October as stated in their email to us ….so, in advance of that increase, because of budgets, being that my husband and I are disabled I went ahead and increased the deductible to get a lower premium that we were comfortable with paying for my two fur babies’ pets. A couple of weeks later I get an email saying they were increasing the premiums so I called the HEALTHY PAWS to review the changes I previously made and make sure that the changes to increase the deductible and lower the premium were in effect. I was given misinformation by 2 employees, the first employee stated they were escalating the issue and if I did not hear from them then everything was corrected because there has to be an error on their part because I just made changes to lower the premium and it was not reflecting. I received yet another email about the impending increase so I called again today 10-14-24 and spoke to “CS Julius” no one told me that even though I selected to increase the deductible to lower the premium in advance of the yearly increase in one month, it didn’t matter because the increase was going to go in effect anyway! Who in their right mind would make changes for one month, knowing that the increase in premium will still go in effect? And not only will your premium increase but the change that you made to increase the deductible will continue to roll in with their increase! I asked Julius to speak to a manager, I spoke to a customer liaison (so called manager) named “Angel” in Alabama and after all the back and forth. I was informed that she would advise their managers about the employees that did not provide the correct information and they can get re-educated on this information. She stated she could not change that increase to go back to the payment plan I selected a month earlier. To make matters worse she added that the increase deductible that I selected a month ago to LOWER my premium WILL HOWEVER ROLL OVER to the new policy! So, in essence I HAVE TO PAY MORE WHILE THE POLICY ON BOTH MY FUR BABIES GOES UP AND THEIR DEDUCTIBLE IS HIGH!! They kept the higher deductible I selected last month but they can’t correct the current premium to reflect the payment I selected last month! She tried to tell me that the website when you make changes to the policy it states that they will not honor your choices when the yearly raise starts, she said a “pop up alerts you to this” THIS IS NOT TRUE! This did not happen, no alerts “popped up”! On the basis that this so-called manager named “Angel” could not do anything to correct this issue, or get advice, or try to make an effort to correct this wrong on their part. I decided to cancel both policies! If you have issues with HEALTHY PAWS don’t count on their employees…they’ll give you misinformation and if you speak to a so-called manager like this, they will NOT help you or even seem interested in making things right. That is NOT good business!! Being an advocate in the health care industry for over 35 years, I make sure that I not only speak out on the positives issues but also the negative ones. I told this so-called Manager that I would be writing reviews on this everywhere I could about this situation! Her answer: “Sorry to hear that” She could have asked what can she do to help, but NO she didn’t because she didn’t care. AVOID THIS HEALTHY PAWS PET INSURANCE Company and anything from “The Chubb Corporation” Read reviews for this company from others like negative REVIEWS due to rate hikes and people complaining that their insurance was cancelled after their fur baby was diagnosed with a Degenerative Condition of the spine: Healthy Paws Ridiculous Rate Hikes- Look for Better Pet Insurance Options

I’ve had healthy Paws pet insurance…

I’ve had healthy Paws pet insurance since I first got my dog in 2022 and I don’t plan on leaving them. They have been wonderful. My 2 year old Maltese had a heart attack and I was devastated. She needed a pace maker to live. Her surgery cost was a total of $15,0000. I paid $3000 out of pocket and Healthy Paws paid the rest. They were quick with reimbursement and they were very understanding the entire way. I would totally recommend them. I’m grateful for them and you will be too.

Healthy Paws has been one of the BEST investments

Healthy Paws has been one of the BEST investments I could have made when my dog was a puppy (he's now 11.) We've had zero issues with coverage claims, they are very clear about what they cover and don't cover. The process to submit a claim online is less than 30 seconds and they have always been processed them within 48 hours. Regarding cost, I don't know what other services charge though I've heard from friends other companies' coverage is much less and process a lot more difficult. For us, it's worth the occasional annual increases. I want to include a special mention regarding my dog's cancer diagnosis. Their customer care team has emailed on several occasions genuinely checking on how he was feeling. I never expected that and it meant the world. I can't imagine what we'd do without this insurance, it's allowed us to test, identify, and treat my most special furry friend.

I insured my dog when he was 2 each…

I insured my dog when he was 2 each year premiums went up in 5 years went up from 35.00 to 65,00. It was taking from my credit card every month, luckily never needed to use the insurance. I noticed on my last statement no charge was taking out. I called the company who told me they canceled the insurance in jan because my credit card expired. They said they emailed me, nothing in my box, they sent a notice to a house I lived in 4 years ago, was not forwarded. Why not a phone call? So I kindly asked them to reinstate the insurance, they said no the dog is too old!! Really, after I gave you thousands of dollars and never put in a claim?? Do yourself a favor, save a hundred dollars a month, maybe in the end you will get a vacation with the money. I will never use this insurance again.
