First time pet owner

I am a first time pet owner. I had no idea of where to begin and was afraid of purchasing a costly policy filled with a lot of fluff. I used my bank product listing and found Embrace. The agent I spoke to was very knowledgeable and had pleasant customer service skills. He was patience in answering all my questions as well as helpful in helping me put together a policy I am pleased with. I am definitely impressed at how easy it is to submit a claim and the amount of time it takes to receive the reimbursement. I have, since purchasing this policy reviewed other companies and have decided I will remain with Embrace. I am pleased with professionalism and service I have received from agents of Embrace.

More Broken than the American Health Care System

Pet insurance is like pre-ObamaCare human insurance. Way over priced and not worth it. "Pre-existing conditions" instead of medical history. What's the point of paying $100/mo, when I'd be better off for saving it until the pets needed something. It was recommended thru USAA for military families, but they don't like when your vet records are in other languages because you were stationed overseas. 2 years at $100/mo and when my lil cat needed $300 for testing, they said no repayment. I'm done, if I'm going to gamble, I'd rather put it with a bank.

Terrible insurance company

Terrible insurance company, almost felt like a total scam. They lured me in with the promise of doing a pre-check on my cats' medical records so I wouldn't have to wait when I submitted a claim. I turned in all the year's worth of vet records, including the required comprehensive exam through their portal after sign up. Got an email three weeks later to say they never received any paperwork from me so couldn't do the pre-check. I emailed back with all the paperwork again and they responded once to say they would send a request to the vet. Several months go by and I don't hear anything so I assumed it had gone through. Then I submit a claim. I get a response back after several weeks and I had to submit a follow up query to say they didn't have the required paperwork to complete their pre-check so couldn't process my claim. I asked them what happened with everything I'd submitted and why that wasn't enough. They said the vet never responded to them. We called the vet. They couldn't find any indication they'd ever been contacted. I submitted all the exam paper again. Never heard back. I tried numerous times to contact them and never heard a thing. To top it all off, one of the claims I submitted for a wellness visit which (according to what I'd paid for) was supposed to be an automatic payout since it wasn't part of the insurance claim. Despite numerous asks on my end, they never paid it out or told me why they wouldn't. So, stay far far away from this one.

Insurance Scam

I wish I had read these reviews before changing over to Embrace Pet Insurance. I wholeheartedly agree with the people who were taken in by pre-existing conditions of lipomas and tartar, which apparently was the reason my claim was denied...and will be denied in the future for any of these reasons. I told my vet how they are even lumping the catch-all, "including cancer," as a pre-existing condition; she was appalled. Just to be clear, my dog has never had cancer. I spoke with a representative, who was syrupy (and condescendingly) sweet, but could provide no reason why I should even have pet insurance. Each hypothetical injury/disease was met with the standard "well, it depends on XYZ" or "each case is different." Bottom line, they will do and/or say anything to get out of helping to pay your bill. In fact, if I had set aside the money I paid in premiums, I would have saved close to the actual bill amount. Because this company is associated with USAA, I thought it would be better than a basic insurance company. Boy, was I wrong! Save yourself heartache and time by "paying" yourself the premium cost and using that to take care of the bills.
