Deceptive Pricing
The company advertises low rates and lifetime deductibles, but rates go up considerably every year, and deductibles do not ever seem to accumulate. Also, the company inexplicably excludes certain fees from claims, like exam fees.

When I adopted my pup the vet recommended Trupanion and I signed up immediately. I am a new pet parent and had no idea about my puppy’s health history. In two months he’s needed surgery and had an ear infection - Trupanion handled the coverage before I even left the vets office! They communicate well and process quickly. This experience has given me such peace of mind.

Nationwide paid out on our sick dog
Nationwide paid out on our sick dog, who became ill like a month after I signed up with NW. The only issue I had was communication was difficult. It did take them about 30 days to payout, but they came through in the end, even when I had to put my dog down. Which was awful.
