Misleading

I recently switched to Metlife pet insurance because all over their website they claim to process claims quickly. Everything was great to start, i was quickly reimbursed for my first claim and everything was going well. But it was clearly too good to be true because that’s when things hit the fan, my puppy was recently diagnosed with bronchitis, all the vet expenses ended up costing $1000+ but i wasn’t worried about it because I thought i had great pet insurance that I thought would reimburse us quickly. I was wrong, to start i’ve been waiting 3 weeks for my claim to be processed, when i had reached out to figure out what’s the hold up, they stated they need notes from doctor, usually they just contact the vet themselves which had not at all been done and no one communicated to me at all while waiting, that that was the reason for the hold up. So i got the notes myself and submitted them on my own, the first rep that i spoke with stated that once the notes were submitted that the processing would be expedited, that was a lie because the rep I spoke with after that said they do not expedite that process and she had no clue what the processing time would be. Again at this point i’ve been waiting 3 weeks despite them advertising 5 day and on the site it says 5-10 days. It’s been way longer than that and i feel like my times being wasted and im very frustrated with the lying and misleading nature from customer support. I feel like you can’t really fulfill your claims of being quick with processing claims, maybe don’t advertise that you are and lie to perspective customers.

Terrible run

They do everything possible to avoid paying. Er visit dog choked on bone.....oh sorry it's a visit and we don't cover that....ummm it's an er visit not planned...nope. oh and you tried a hypo allergetic food....so 2yrs later your dog has allergies...yeah no we won't cover it. It's not worth it. They go so hard w not covering you it is better to take a loan and pay that off. I seriously have to tell you they are scammers and will stop at nothing to prevent paying. And it's 500 deductible all the time plus no visit is paid for regardless.

Fast & Friendly Service

Have not had a single issue with claims. My dog had a fast growing tumour which required a CT scan and eventually surgery to remove. Pets Plus Us covered 90% of every claim we submitted, no questions asked!

Met Life poor claims processing no response to correspondence

By far the worst customer server I've received since starting the policy two years ago. Rare that I submit a claim so this is unacceptable and truly not worth the premiums I pay. Even a comment to reach out after a review was not answered, internal email unanswered, chat never available.

Met Life poor claims processing

I rarely submit a claim... but when I do... I expect it to be processed and communicated efficiently, if they need any additional info. Over 12 days and no communication. Had to sign in to see they are asking for exact invoice I sent them in the very first claim submission. Submitted an email through contact and no reply. Premiums and any billing are super punctual in contrary. I'd think twice about relying on Metlife to care about you, your pet, or any concern you have.

Best Decision Ever!

When our daughter's new pup developed chronic health issues that required many on going vet visits at great expense, we made the decision to get pet Insurance for our new Shih Tzu puppy.....just in case. Well, low and behold, he was diagnosed with an eye condition that ultimately led to surgery. The first done by our regular vet did not obtain lasting results so we were referred to a Veterinarian Specialist Hospital where a 2nd surgery was performed successfully by an Opthamolagist. Though expensive, all our claims submitted were covered and a full 80% reimbursed to our account. Definitely choosing Furkin was the BEST decision and we have no regrets.
