First bad experience in 9 years
I made a claim on a condition my pet was diagnosed with in the fall that I had already met the deductible for and was told it was a '�new condition'� and started a new deductible. I might have caused confusion because I called it arthritis the second time and degenerative joint disease/cervical pain the first time, but when I emailed to explain they're the same condition I got no response. Also, I'm disappointed to learn your policy on rx diets is only to cover them for the first 2 months. It doesn't make sense to me because no other prescription is treated this way, seems a little inconsistent with the comprehensive coverage I'm used to expecting from Trupanion. Honestly I'm a bit frustrated with the whole experience this claim and it comes at a bad time - I was about to sign up my new kitten and I also opened my own practice and had been planning to advocate for pet insurance. I'm putting a pin in that for now if Trupanion is going to start getting sticky on things that should be covered. Insurance companies have a reputation for that kind of behaviour, and I've never had an issue for the last 9 years so I'm hoping it's not the start of a trend.

I have had excellent service from Embrace. They were very helpful when explaining what they could offer, patiently answering all my questions. They have been very fair in processing the claims I have sent. They are also very good about follow up regarding the status of claims.
