Couldn't ask for any better, they were great!

The love of our lives Duchess a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was stricken with CHF at 9 1/2 years of age. She required several trips to the emergency hospital and to Cardiac specialist in attempts to give her a better and longer life. We lost our battle but are thankful we had our friends at Embrace to allow us the opportunity to provide the best care we could. I recommend without hesitation the Embrace product. They did exactly what they said they would. We intend on opening a new policy as soon as we get our new love. Thank you so much for being there.

The promise is better than the coverage

Their ads promise excellent coverage, but that is not what happened in our case. I had a number of complaints, but one was that our adopted dog had an ear infection when we got her in June. (She'd been "on the street" for who knows how long.) She was treated and it cleared up In November/December while she was in surgery for a dental problem, the vet examined her ears and found they were infected again. Second infection was not covered. Trupanion deemed it a pre-existing condition. Why? When I complained I was told that "ear infections are often caused by allergies". They can be, but there are also other causes. After the second occurrence we started giving her allergy meds as a test. However, the diagnosis was not made even after she had the second infection; we are still waiting to see if this works. In my opinion, the infection should have been covered; if the ear infection returns yet again, at that time it is reasonable to consider it to be allergies and therefore pre-existing. Another problem I have with the coverage is that they do not cover "examinations". The same dog had an abscessed tooth. They did not cover the exam or testing for the tooth, although they partially covered the surgical extraction and repair. Even if a dog is, God forbid, hit by a car, the "examination fee" (otherwise known as "office visit") is not covered. I have not checked, but I believe the x-rays would also not be covered as they are diagnostic tools that fall under "exams". The third issue is the "per event" deductible. Fourth? No wellness coverage at all ever. It's not offered.

Paid dental claim no questions asked

My 11 year old terrier fractured her teeth chewing on bones. I took her to an expensive specialist because of her age. Because the problem was due to trauma not periodonal disease, it was fully covered, other than what I knew I would pay (deductible, copay) -- over $2000 covered. No problems, payment went right to the vet.

I regret being with Nationwide/VPI for 10 years!

I never insured any other pet before this dog, so I have had one insured dog for 10 years. He was just diagnosed with Cushing's disease and Nationwide has an $800.00 annual cap on this disease. We spent more than that just getting to the diagnoses. Now there is zero coverage for any medication or actual treatment of this disease. I am devastated to say the least. If I manage his disease well, he has the potential for many good years ahead. But I've never had a dog with a chronic condition before and here I am in that very position with pet insurance for the first time and I WON'T BE REIMBURSED FOR MOST OF HIS TREATMENT/NEEDS! The company likes to tout that the benefits renew each calendar year but the amount of coverage for his illness is actually less than what the plan will cost me for the year, much less the deductible so I am not better off with the insurance unless he gets sick or injured with something different. The whole reason I insured him in the first place was so I wouldn't have to be paying out of pocket for really big expenses if they happened, and now that is exactly what I'm stuck doing. Of course he now has a pre-existing condition and I am stuck with a company that has completely let us down.

Thank you Healthy Paws!

We have had the pet insurance through Healthy Paws for almost 2 years now. And with a young healthy dog, you think...oh nothing will happen. But unfortunately we had 2 instances in the last year that made us thankful for the coverage. One our dog was attacked and required immediate care and then the major item was the tear of her ACL (aka TPLO procedure). It was almost a $5k procedure but Healthy Paws called in with a credit card to our provider for the balance that was covered. We were only out our deductible and coinsurance that we has agreed to on our policy. The staff has been very helpful anytime that I have called and always a quick return call or email. Thanks Healthy Paws.

I <3 Trupanion

When I got my dogs, the first thing I did was insure them. I thought that they meant so much to me that I never wanted to have to decide if it was too expensive to heal them. 3 years after starting, my dog Jake tore his CCL. My vet told me he could do a quick surgery for about $2000 and my dog would get about 20-30% of his leg back. One call to Trupanion and they said they would do whatever it took to get him all fixed up and now you can't even tell he ever had an injury. Two years later his other leg has gone, and it was even smoother. My boy is recovering sitting next to me and I am so grateful that I am not being hit with a $6000 vet bill.

seizures

Embrace has certainly helped me with my canines. One of my girls Cherish had seizures staring at approx. 1 year old and needs meds daily to keep her from getting more. Embrace never questioned or tried to get out of paying from that issue or a major issue with my other girl HOPE who had pyrometra, a uterin infection. I recommend them to all and told several vets about them as well, even mentioned them in face book as I am a animal lover,70 years old but on limited income. Just having it gives you peace of mind knowing that if a major problem occurs , Embrace has your Back !!!!!!

All-Around Excellent

I genuinely couldn't be happier with Healthy Paws Insurance. The price is competitive, and my first request for a reimbursement went through without any problem. The process is simple (entirely online, no claim forms), and the response is rapid.

Ten more years of love!

After removing a Mast Cell Tumor we were told by vet that all margins clear, we got it all. Even though surgery, which Embrace covered, was deemed successful, vet asked if I wanted to send off tissue for further analysis. Most folks would not have done that but since I have Embrace I said why not. Well results came back very scary-very aggressive form of cancer with a 8 shot chemo protocol recommended. Only because I have Embrace which basically said when we cover the original diagnosis we cover EVERYTHING that's needed for recovery, our 4 year old white Lab Bella has a better than 90% chance of another good 10 years with us. Thanks Embrace!!!
