Canceling my coverage

I have had Pets Best insurance for 2 dogs for 4 years. they were puppies when we got the insurance. started at $ 60 a month for accident and wellness coverage NOW over $ 90 ea ch. monthly. No accidents just wellness has been turned in for reimbursement. Since Oct 2025, their website is broken. You have to call and wait a minimum of 25 to 45 mins for a live person to discuss how to submit your annual wellness claim. They are polite and give you a no answer answer why the you can't submit your claim. I am cancelling at the end of this month and getting insurance someother place.

Hiked up rates

We have used Healthy Paws for two dogs for 10 years now. Gradual increases are expected on our rate but we went from $250 a month to $1,000 per month. This is unethical and bad faith business practices.

MetLife Pet Insurance is Piece of Mind

the MetLife Pet Insurance plan is one that you pay for the service up front and then a reimbursed. I find the paperwork very simple to fill out and upload online. I also find that the turn around time is very reasonable. I use my pet insurance at a minimum to cover the annual exam for my 2 dogs and even after paying the deductible I get several hundred dollars back

Best customer service ever

First, I'm going to give you suggestions. Because the CEO won't respond. I wish reviews would be on Google. People want to know why there are five stars. Second, drop the AI voicemail. You can't interrupt you have to listen to everything just to talk to an agent.Third, please ax the ZIP code policy meaning you pay via zip code. My rates went up when I moved. Even though I offered to go to my same vet, the price increased. If a person is willing to go to their prior vet in the prior zip code, I think they should have that opportunity as you will get billed from that zip code, so all this is to the CEO. Now on to all the good stuff. This is one of the most outstanding insurances ever. Their first line of defense, their customer service is impeccable.. Impeccable. I always speak to a representative. I have never gotten a bad representative. In fact, I have gotten some of the greatest representatives that I asked to talk to their manager so that they will personally get kudos for how they went Way beyond the call of duty. They're helpful, they're compassionate as they get that your dog cat is family 1 million percent and that's important. They're also very knowledgeable! If there's a snafu they are willing to help you figure it out, help you get it worked out. Outstanding outstanding customer service. The claims generally speaking are really quick. Seriously. The only time there was a slowdown was after when the large large hurricanes and that made total sense. Otherwise, it happens. Pretty dang fast. They're on it pretty well. I recycle my money so to speak. Even if I have to borrow money and then pay it back to somebody. I know I'm going to get 90% back. So I will borrow that money from a friend and then pay them back so I can take my guy to the vet. He had a bad go of it for a while so I felt like I was living at the vet. And all those claims got processed quickly. Seriously within 10 days to me that's quick. I would highly recommend this place. Customer service outstanding, policy outstanding. They have the best WellCare ever! They pay for supplements. They pay for flea tick control. It's utterly outstanding. I cannot say enough good about them. I just wish this review would go on to the Google site.

Good experience speaking with a Nationwide Rep

The representative I worked with was very helpful and patient in answering all my questions and giving me time to make a final decision. I think it was worth it to call directly to Nationwide instead of applying online, b/c it appears that I received a modest discount compared to the online quote, and I was able to pay for a full year of coverage for my pet with an even bigger discount than paying month to month. I feel confident that I made the right decision, however I have 2 weeks to change my mind.

Worst renewal

We had a generally good experience with Embrace over the years, but this most recent renewal has been a huge shock. While I expect reasonable annual increases, my premium almost doubled—jumping from $250 to nearly $600 a month. What makes this even more frustrating is that my dog had zero claims over the past year. To see a rate hike this extreme without any change in my dog’s health or usage of the policy is unacceptable. At $7,200 a year just in premiums, it is now more cost-effective for me to simply set that money aside in a savings account for vet care rather than continue with this policy. It’s a shame because the service started out great, but these 'sticker shock' renewals make it impossible for loyal customers to stay. If you’re looking for long-term affordability, be wary of the massive spikes you might face down the road.

Stay away from Healthy Paws

I have had multiple dogs insured by several companies. I would stay away from Healthy Paws. They have he weakest coverage of the unlimited policy carriers. However, far worse is their bait and switch model. They may be the cheapest unlimited policy one can find for a young dog but by the time it reaches 7 years old this will be by far the highest priced policy of any of them. It seems they are trying to force older dog’s policies to be cancelled and many are. They were the subject of a class action lawsuit that was settled because of this bait and switch model and if we are all lucky they will be sued again. Trupanion is a probably the best choice, they are a little higher to start but the rise with age is steady, it doesn’t double and triple like Healthy Paws, so by the time they are old it’s going to be far less. There are other companies with unlimited policies as well that can be trusted, but not Healthy Paws.
