Great turnaround time for reimbursement but would like to see higher levels of reimbursement for covered procedures/vaccinations. Only 38% of my visit were covered.

Great company but slow payments

As far as the price goes, it's comparable with other companies for similar deals. Dealing with the staff was great, submitting claims is easy but getting the claims approved and receiving the payment is extremely slow. You will get the EOB and still take a week to receive the direct deposit.

Fast,easy,no nonsense pet insurance.

I had pet insurance on my 2 dear pups back in 2005. It was a nightmare to get any money back. Had to get paper copies from Vet,fill out long claim forms with lots of details, mail it in ,then was often called for more info. Not with Pumpkin,my husband uploads the paperwork that my Vet is nice enough to email me. I fill out a few important questions on Pumpkins online claim form, upload the documents and that's it,no questions asked! Now that I have direct deposit I get reimbursed so quickly! I've called customer service for some questions and they answer the phone is than less a minute. That's unheard of these days. I am so happy my dear pup has Pumpkin insurance to help with the costs of her care

WORST COMPANY TO WORK WITH

I have had the absolute worst experience with this company. My employer provides pet insurance through Nationwide which is why I chose them in the first place but that was the biggest mistake ever. I made my FIRST round (yes 1st round) of policies through nationwide and provided my employee ID for payroll deduction. 1 out of 3 policies lapsed because "I did not enroll through my employer" so the payroll deduction could not be made (EVEN THOUGH I PROVIDED MY EMPLOYEE ID FOR DEDUCTIONS). Tell me why my other two policies are perfectly fine and active? Throughout the 2 months of going back and forth I have had a representative tell me that Nationwide is fully in the wrong and made the mistake of not directing me to my employer and because of this, I didn't have to backpay the months the policy lapsed. I called them two weeks later to ask for an update and a new representative was now telling me that I needed to backpay the lapsed policy to reopen it. I refused to backpay it and told them to cancel it so I could make a new policy THROUGH my employer's website. I made 3 new policies through my employer and planned to keep the original 2 open so that my dogs were covered between the activation periods. I got confirmation emails of the new policies and everything seemed to be fine. My dog gets seen by a vet and I go to file a claim and now they are advising me that I can't have two policies open and that I needed to cancel one. If I were to cancel the original policies, they would have to go through the underwriting process again and risk not being covered for what they were recently seen by the vet. They would also not be covered till the new activation date which was January. In addition to this, they rep said that I may run into more problems with the new policies because the employee ID was incorrect EVEN THOUGH I SIGNED UP THROUGH MY EMPLOYER'S WEBSITE. Because of this she asked me to give my social security over the phone. I asked if they were ever going to notify me of this problem and request my social security through an email and they said no which means that they would have probably canceled the new policies due to the wrong Employee ID and NOT NOTIFY THE POLICY HOLDER. On top of all of this, the supervisor I spoke to was unprofessional, not caring and polite at all. This has been the worst experience ever.
