I have had Pets Best for years

I have had Pets Best for years. They recently got bought out by another company and it has gone completely downhill. I can't recommend them anymore. I would switch my cat to another insurance if I could but he has pre-existing conditions so I have to keep them. All future animals will go on another insurance plan with a company that is not owned by this corporate outfit. The customer service is terrible- it used to be outstanding. They don't care anymore. I filed a wellness claim and they reprocessed it again incorrectly. I am done calling in and dealing with this. In the past wellness and illness claims could be sent together and they knew how to process it correctly- now they don't know what they are doing with claims or even what your policy includes. If you are looking for a good pet insurance- look elsewhere.

Very disappointed with customer service since I signed up in October. I haven’t even had a claim yet. After several emails they are unwilling to answer questions regarding coverage and keep spewing general legal jargon. I’m getting the impression they will find every way to deny a claim. They are completely overpriced as well. I’ve also received conflicting and incorrect information in the past over the phone. I’m really frustrated and ready to cancel.

Not satisfied with customer experience…

Not satisfied with customer experience - lack of notification of policy expiration / renewal, confusing terminology on dashboard showing policy dates as current dates and not expliciting stating currently expired, and lack of ability to provide a one-time exception to retro active most recent claim that was submitted.

I spoke to a "person" who said I have to use autopay. I am retired and on a fixed income. I NEED to know what is being paid and when at my discretion. I don't want autopay I asked her to send me and email each month, she said she can't By the way, I found autopay on the portal and canceled it.

Claims denied because "despite repeated attempts they could not verify information with my vet." Despite sending over ~40 pages of PDFs for the last 2 years health on my pet, and super weird how whenever I call the vet they answer? In effect, if they want to deny your claim they can just say "sorry we totally tried calling but then like, no one answered? weird right anyways MONEY PLEASE" Stay far, far away from this garbage company. What a total joke. PS: Bonus points for -- in the year 2026 -- being one of those awesome companies that will happily let you sign up friction-free online, but if you want to cancel they make you call them. That alone is a red flag.
