It was my very first time to use this insurance benefit for my pet so I wasn't sure what to expect, as we all have experiences of our own health insurances that sometimes are quite frustrating. But it was surprisingly simple and the agent whom I talked to was professional and helpful.

Extremely Pleased

My dog had crypt orchid for which he had an orchiectomy and was neutered. I submitted a claim which was denied for having been a preexisting condition. In 2025 my dog was attacked by a much bigger dog. He had an overnight stay at a Pet Emergency Hospital including surgery and several fu visits I was pleasantly surprised that Spot reimbursed me 90% of all of these vet bills which was thousands of dollars! In early 2026 my dog got treated for ear infection and this treatment was also covered at 90% after my $100 deductible was met I am extremely pleased with this Pet Insurance submitting a claim is streamlined and the response time prompt! Thank you SPOT

The Customer Service is excellent

The Customer Service is excellent! A knowledgeable and personable Customer Service Representative answers the phone generally very promptly after the automated system has answered. They listen closely and address the reason for calling, accurately. Very helpful! The confirmation of receipt of a claim is very prompt (usually within two days) and reimbursement is usually within five business days if the claim submitted by the claimant is complete! MUCH improved service than in the past! No "hidden agendas". Their reimbursement guidelines are straight forward and easy to to understand and Customer Service is always happy to answer any questions. We have been with them for 13 years. We are very pleased with Met Life Pet Insurance.

When was the last time you said something nice about insurance?

Trupanion is our first experience with pet insurance but has set a bar that a lifetime of human health insurance has never come close to. Simple and understandable: I actually know what to expect up front. Quick and efficient: claim processing is quick and efficient. All but one claim has been completed in days. The one that took a few extra days was corrected within a couple days. (Caused by confusing veterinary terminology that calls the dog equivalent of pathology and autopsy the same thing. One call from the hospital confirming that she was very much alive and it was fixed. Fast reimbursement: our regular vet does electronic claims at checkout so we only pay our share. When we needed a regional specialty hospital, the reimbursement was in the bank before the credit card bill was due.
