My Precious Mandy

"I rescued Mandy at 1 1/2 years old. I had dogs all my life but never such a large one, she is a beautiful Great Pyrenees Golden Mix, so I thought it would be wise to get insurance. My thoughts were may hip dysplasia down the road or other aliments a large dog may encounter. Now several years later, if that were only the case....my precious girl at only 5 years old was diagnosed with mast cell malignant tumors. If I had not had insurance, I don't know how I could have done all this. Pet's Best has come through 100%. I am so grateful to them. Coverage has been outstanding, and I have been given extra time with my precious girl."

Peace of Mind

"My pets have been insured with Pets Best for 15+ years and I recommend Pets Best to all friends, family, co-workers, anyone who will listen. The premiums are fair, the portal is easy to navigate, the claims process is easy and the coverage is excellent. The peace of mind I have with these policies in place for my pets is invaluable. "

Extremely disappointed

After losing my last dog, I wanted to try a new pet insurance. I was recommended Fetch by a friend. I selected the 90/10 coinsurance with a $100 deductible, with the understanding that my premium would be higher. The first year, my dog was neutered and I requested an X-ray of his tail due to excessive biting and chasing of his tail. I skimmed the renewal but did not read it in full. After my dog’s first visit to receive his inoculations, I submitted the claims and it said this covered $50 of my $500 deductible. I called and told them that this was not the plan I signed up for. I was told that due to my excess vet visits in his first year, they changed my plan. I asked if this means they could eventually drop me. The response was “it’s a shared risk”. I am completely disgusted with them and will be switching back to the plan my first dog was with. My dog did not have excessive visits and the fact that they could just drop you is completely unacceptable. So in the future, if God forbid, something happens to my dog, they will drop me because he got sick? And another company won’t accept my dog due to underwriting? With my last dog and last carrier, they increased my premium annually, but they were there for me for the entirety of her life.

Pets Best!

I have used Pets Best for my greyhound, Della since I got her at 3+ years. She is turning 10 in a few days. Over the years, along with more minor illnesses, she has developed a chronic condition (SLO) and is now being treated for osteosarcoma. Pets Best insurance has paid for itself many times over. Yes, as my dog has aged, the premiums have increased, but so have her health problems. I am now in a position to make decisions about treatment for Della's serious illness (which will ultimately end her life) without having to worry about the cost. I seriously appreciate this. I am being reimbursed for 90% of costs after $600 deductible for cancer treatment--palliative radiation, bone strengthening infusion, and chemo to slow the inevitable spread of this terrible cancer. I highly recommend Pets Best.

Trupanion is a total scam

They almost never approve any claim. You might as well throw the money down the drain. As per the agreement, there is a lifetime deductible for a health condition. Once the deductible is reached, we should never be charged again. But in practice, they always deny the claim.

Highly Recommend

Our golden, Ella was diagnosed with an aggressive osteosarcoma at 4 years old. We had purchased Pets Best insurance a few years prior not expecting to ever need it, but wanting it to be there in a worst case scenario. Fast forward to 2025 when she received that awful diagnosis. We really needed this insurance and are so grateful for the financial stress Pets Best has lifted from us during this difficult time. We would be in a much harder place having to contemplate even treating our girl had we not been insured with Pets Best. That’s a situation no pet owner would ever want to be in. Pets Best has been a saving grace for our family and we couldn’t recommend using them for your pet insurance more.

Great experience

We were hoping we’d never have to file a claim. However, we did and it was painless.

Trupanion Reassesses Ailments As New Conditions to Have Deductible Applied Over and Over

If I could rate a zero, I would. I have a 14 year old flat-coated retriever that I have insured with Trupanion since she was 10 weeks old. We rarely submitted claims (and in 90% of the cases that we did, Trupanion just applied costs to the deductible and we did not receive any coverage), until our dog was 12 years old. While Trupanion states that the deductible for a given condition will be applied only once over the lifetime of the pet, that was not the case for me. My dog had a condition that appeared when she was 2 years old (we paid a deductible), when she was 4 years old (again paid a deductible) and most recently when she was 14 years old (and again had to restart the deductible). The term "chronic" condition was shared with me repeatedly. So, if you dog's condition is not chronic, but appears randomly (same symptoms, same treatment, same outcome), do not expect to be covered. Additionally, Trupanion is now delaying processing and payment of a claim for a condition that we have submitted and have covered for the last 2 years. Finally, Trupanion also increased our premium just after I submitted an appeal on the repeated deductible on a condition for which I have already paid. Please ensure that you consider other insurance providers when looking for coverage for your pet.

They really care

Pets best cares more about the pet than the money. They have never been doubtful of what my Dr recommends. I love them!
