I haven't had pet insurance in many years but since I recently retired, I thought it would be a good idea to cover my new Great Dane. I am impressed with Trupanion & how quickly they review claims and the fact that they can directly pay the vet while I am standing at the counter waiting to check out is beyond helpful!

I submitted a wellness claim for my pup getting her first shots 5 days ago and I am still waiting for it to be assigned for processing. I called and spoke with their customer service representative and a supervisor who both told me that they can take upwards of two to four weeks to process a single claim. Spot claims on the internet that they process these in a few days. I can't believe this time frame when others pet insurance companies would have already processed the claim and reimbursed the customer, I am still waiting for it be assigned for review. Not a top-notch pet insurance company and I would not recommend them. For my first and initial interaction I am not impressed and they do not live up to what they state they will do in processing claims.

Highly recommend MetLife Pet – Compassionate and seamless support during a difficult time
I had to file my first claim for my cat, Joongbae Kim, after he suddenly became ill. MetLife Pet made the entire process so easy and fast. They covered everything from medical bills to the final farewell costs (euthanasia/cremation), which I truly did not expect to be covered. The fact that they automatically closed my policy and refunded the balance showed true care for their customers. It made a very difficult period much easier to handle. I highly recommend them to any pet owner.

Lightning quick payments, easy to file claims online
We’ve insured our pets with other companies in the past and were generally satisfied, but we decided to try Adoro for our two new puppies because of the deductible lock feature. We had a policy elsewhere for our older dog, but when she turned 10 the premium jumped to an unreasonable level and we had to cancel due to cost. I’m really hoping everything I’ve read about Adoro’s deductible lock holds true, so far I’m very impressed. The claim experience alone has exceeded expectations. I submitted invoices for the puppies’ vaccines and received payment within hours, which is unheard of. When one puppy had a urinary concern and the vet didn’t find anything definitive, I wasn’t sure any of that visit would be covered. I submitted the invoice anyway, and to my surprise (and delight), Adoro applied the entire amount toward my deductible. While we’re still early in our policy, my experience to date has been extremely positive. If the deductible lock continues to work as promised, I can easily see us staying with Adoro long-term.

I recently got meltife pet insurance…
I recently got meltife pet insurance for one of my dogs. After reading the policy in full and seeing clearly that injuries were covered on day one of policy, I decided that this is the insurance I would choose. Shortly after my policy started, my dogs leg was stepped on by another dog causing her to favor her left leg. I submitted a claim which was denied. I appealed the claim and submitted amended chart notes that gave proof of the diagnosis and the cause of injury. The appeal was again denied. I decided to send all documents and went section by section to provide as much evidence to show that this was an injury. Metlife denied my appeal stating that the strained ligament and bone chip were caused by a predisposed condition. My dog has never been diagnosed with any previous conditions, let alone a musculoskeletal condition. Metlife is therefore claiming that my dog was diagnosed with an illness that is nowhere on her medical record and deeming her injury as an illness. This is falsified assumptions and is being decided by a claims adjustor who has no apparent knowledge of the difference between injury and illness. This insurance company is not looking out for it's customers and refuses to look further into the claim.
