First year was great, then…
First year - great. Renew your policy and they screw you! On my latest claim, I have been waiting and waiting for them to adjudicate my claim and reimburse me for my pet’s meds, a claim they have covered for a year. But, I made the mistake of renewing my policy and they increased the cost dramatically and have not covered a claim since. They try to relate everything to preexisting conditions. This latest claim was always covered, but all of a sudden they say my claim is incomplete. Again, they were great at first, but once they have you hooked, they’ll rip you off and delay or deny routine claims.

Claims. I decided to cancel today. My current claim they kept rejecting because it didn’t have all the paperwork. This is a false statement. I verified three times sending it in that I have right paperwork. Feels like a common theme for this company.

I have a discount through my employer
I have a discount through my employer, a public school. My dog's current policy expires in July 18 but we were asked to make our insurance selections in May. I called to see if the new policy would take effect when the current one expired - sort of a renewal but with my current selections. The representative could not give me an answer. I went ahead and submitted the "new" policy. A representative, Rob, called me a few days later but we had a very bad phone connection. He said he would call back but never did. I logged onto the website and see that the new policy will be in effect June 1. So basically, I am paying twice for June and half of July.

PetsBest Pet Insurance
We are so happy we have chosen PetsBest Pet Insurance. Our Frenchie was very healthy only needed Wellness checks. Until she became paralyzed in both back legs. We had to have emergency surgery on her back, it was Christmas Eve. We were informed that our precious dog had IVDD. PetsBest reimbursed us 80% of what we paid for emergency surgery and all the care she still needs. We are so grateful we got the Insurance even though we had a healthy happy puppy.

Nationwide® Pet Insurance | Save Big on Major Vet Bills The above is not true!!! I submitted a claim for a necessary Gallbladder surgery because a stone was blocking the duct and one was lodged in her intestine. The gallbladder could have raptured and be even worse. The bill was expensive and the only refund me 2683.05. i asked for a review of this claim. She also had to be rushed back to the hospital for complications. I submitted that bill which was also large. That was 14 days ago. I called to check on these claims and was told that we could have to wait 30 days before any reimbursements. I have paid for over 7 years with no major claims until now. They are dragging their feet.

Easy claims processing
I have had a great experience using the wellness portion of our plan. We always do our dogs annual visit and get a portion of it reimbursed and our overall insurance premium is less than it was with our previous insurance. They pay the claim within a couple of weeks of receipt.
