I've only just purchased this insurance…
I've only just purchased this insurance and right off that bat I was denied for a claim.this is very disheartening. I'm not sure I will be keeping this insurance.

To care for your pets and to know that you can get reinbursed for the money that you pay with pet insurance
The people were friendly. It's nice to know that you can be reinbursed for the money you pay for your pets' care.

Customer service experience was above and beyond
I realized that the coverage I had just started with Fetch was not feasible to my 3 special needs dogs so I called into customer service to cancel the policy. I spoke with Sally Leonard and she not only reviewed my policy to see if any changes could be made but also advised of what questions should be asked of an insurance company to get my dogs covered for wellness visits in the state of Indiana. I have a puppy with preexisting hereditary issues and an adopted dog that has behavioral issues well past the normal scope. She talked to me for a while to get an understanding of my needs for a policy for my dogs and she was informative, kind and a true pleasure to speak with. She realized that there were no options of coverage suitable for my dogs with Fetch and put through the cancellation of policy I requested. I wish everyone performing customer service was as great as Sally! Thank you Sally for everything! You are the best 🤩

Haven't used it yet but we are hoping for a 5
I really don't know. I just got spot and haven't used it yet so I really can't give a true rating. But I hope it is going to be a 5. Our new puppy needs to be chipped and neutered. So we can rate you then.

Not impressed.
Did not request records from primary vet and closed claim request. Customer service representative that I spoke with the 2nd time spoke over me and had poor customer service skills. Took 60+ days to process claim.

Avoid Trupanion like the plague
We've had Trupanion coverage for more than a decade for two small rescue dogs. In the beginning, our experiences with Trupanion were good, but as the dogs have gotten older, and their needs more extensive, we've had nothing but problems in getting them to cover claims. I get that insurance companies don't make money when they help you, but we're experiencing things like having medications they've taken for years suddenly being denied for coverage. Don't get me started on the hoops they make you jump through to appeal. Or their unwillingness to listen to the vet's appeals on your behalf. The fact that our premiums have increased more than four-fold over the years is bad enough, but lately they have started putting so many barriers in the claims process that it's just easier to give up. Our vet is frustrated at the time he has to spend navigating their convoluted claims process and if I had to choose between my vet and Trupanion, there's no contest. Paying $370 per month to insure two small dogs only to fight over every penny claimed is a harsh lesson. I'd recommend staying away from Trupanion. Read the recent reviews -- they tell the story of a company with serious issues. I regret my decision to purchase insurance with Trupanion and hope to help others avoid the horrible experiences we have had with them.
