People I talked to about Siku incident where surprised on how fast the claim was taken care of. They were surprised Trupanion paided Mercy Animal Hospital directly.
Our puppy, Tayto, was born with a rare condition called cricopharyngeal asynchrony. His condition wasn't known until he was about 3 months old. Following this discovery and diagnosis, Trupanion helped us make the easy decision to proceed with surgery and continued monitoring/treatment so long as he continued to have a happy and good quality of life. Would definitely recommend anyone getting a puppy, or any dog for that matter, to get Trupanion to at least ease any unexpected burden, and help with any difficult decisions that may come.
Our four year old Frenchie was recently immobilized with an unexplained and painful condition that would require treatment other than stay at home crate rest. The neurologist that saw our dog two years ago when she was diagnosed with IVDD performed a CT scan and spinal tap that showed no progression. There was no mechanical problems associated with our pet’s vertebrae and no infection, however there was apparent inflammation of the spine. No surgical intervention was required and our dog was treated medicinally at the veterinarian clinic over the next few days. She’s at home now and moving about as though nothing had happened to her three weeks ago. Our family is fortunate to have had Trupanion cover us during our pet’s medical crisis. A hospital stay, though necessary, can be costly.

My claims were all paid very quickly, within a few days, no questions asked. When you are dealing with a sick pet it's important that you have that kind of support. When I called to find out if my cat was covered the person I spoke with was very kind and helpful.

My claims are always processed quickly, which is all I hoped for. Rebekah gives now meaning to “above and beyond”. I screwed up. I lost a payment cheque. Then I registered for direct deposit and accidentally provided the incorrect transit or branch #. Trupanion did the direct deposit and (ACK!) it went into the wrong account. The bank said only Trupanion can request to have the payment reversed. Over a 2+ month back and forth, Rebekah patiently worked through it with me, having the finance department reverse the funds. Royal Bank has been making it impossible. They’re a nightmare. Finally, even though this all started because of my mistakes, Trupanion has sent me another cheque for the amount and is dealing with my bank directly. They paid me twice not knowing if they’d be successful recouping their cost. This is insane and has made a very stressful problem evaporate for me. I have posted on Facebook (my wall and pet groups) about this situation and how amazing Rebekah at Trupanion and the entire company has been. It’s love.
