Reliable and prompt response!
We've had MetLife Pet Insurance for 2 years now and it's been a great program. I send the claim in and within 10 days or sooner I get a response and the money that is owed to us for a claim is in my checking account.

I had to speak with an agent for some assistance today. She did a great job, was a big help and resolved my issue quickly. Also, I recently moved from Atlanta to a smaller town in north GA, my monthly premium was reduced by over $30/month. A fair and equitable company indeed.

Pets Best is a good pet insurance
Pets Best is a good pet insurance. I am happy for the most part. My only complaint would be it takes too long to get reimbursed from them. They need to speed up their procedures.

Quick reimbursement, but steep/predatory premium increases
I think HealthyPaws has one of the best and most painless reimbursement experiences, but I can't justify the steep premium increases anymore - this year they are increasing my monthly premium by 229% from $94.26 to $215.41 for my one dog and it is unfortunately the last straw for me so I have sadly cancelled my policy today. I'm not sure if it's because they were recently acquired by Chubb, but when I spoke to a customer rep, they said that due to a combination of factors (more clients are filing claims, certain state laws are requiring pet insurance companies to be more transparent/ethical with their practices so they can't be sneaky with certain fees, vet costs rising in a few cities, etc.) Healthy Paws is doubling/tripling premiums for many folks this year. Also don't bother trying to negotiate for a lower premium, I've tried many times with no success. All they do is list all the reasons for the increase and that's about it. This is really heartbreaking for me because now as I look for new pet insurance, any kind of medical issue (as small as a tummy ache, chest cough, etc.) that my dog has experienced in his lifetime can be written off as a preexisting condition that the insurance company no longer has to cover. Because of this, I want to really caution folks to do their research and think twice before committing to HealthyPaws unless you have that cash to burn. Even if your estimate is reasonable now, you can see folks on Reddit/in online forums sharing screenshots of their monthly premiums going from $39 to $421 over the years for just one dog. Just to provide some numbers, I have been with HealthyPaws since 2017, with a starting premium of $49.17/month for my one dog. Every year since then, they increased this premium by 10-20%, so every year I would select a smaller reimbursement % (and higher deductible) to help balance things out. Right now I am at $94.26/month at their lowest reimbursement and highest deducible option, but I just received an email that they will be increasing my premium by 229% to $215.41/month. At this rate, the smarter move will be for me to simply set aside $90/month into an emergency fund and letting it slowly grow. I am sad about this because HealthyPaws has always been very quick and efficient about reimbursements, but I cannot recommend this company in good conscience (unless you are incredibly wealthy and can afford your monthly premium spiking over $500/month in your dog's later years).
