Overall

Overall, it is a good experience having metlife for my pet’s insurance. My dog often has issues with his skin, ears, and eyes. Met life is there to help me with the financial burden of vet visits and medications. Considering the costs and frequency of my dog’s health care, the monthly premium is worth it and the 80% reimbursement is a big help. Sometimes a claim will take a month or more to process and probably the monthly payment will increase every year i renew the policy. These are the two downsides of the pet insurance.

Wellness Claim Worked As Expected

My dog, Bailey, had her Annual Exam on July 1st, after which I submitted my claim by the end of the day, which was approved the next day on July 2nd. The only items not fully reimbursed were those that exceeded the annual maximum Wellness amount listed in my policy. Within a week the funds were automatically deposited into my bank account.

Easy to use the app to file claims and to review my policy. Good response times. I’ve also called to ask a question and talked to a real person, who was able to assist me. These seem like bare minimum things, but I can tell you not every insurance company works as well. I’m on my third year with this policy and I’ve recommended MetLife to my friends who are looking for pet insurance.

I like how easy it is to make a claim…

I like how easy it is to make a claim on the mobile app. I receive a receipt from the vet via email, save on my phone and then upload the claim on the Met Life Pet app.

Disappointed in ASPCA PET INSURANCE

I have been an ASPCA customer for over 2 decades. They used to be wonderful & I sung their praises in prior reviews. Now, I will never donate to The Guardian Plan, nor will I carry my pet insurance with them ever again. Not trusting The Guardian Plan??? It is difficult for me to reach that point, but they earned my distrust over the last few years. I love animals & will continue to do things that support rescue efforts, but it will never happen via the ASPCA ever again. I have been a pet insurance policy holder for well over 2 decades & I now see that greed is the driving force. I work in a management capacity with a large international company & I know that profits are massively important. I also know that integrity should always be at the forefront of anything that a corporation does, so that we maintain the trust & transparency that any customer needs, in order to maintain a positive relationship. The ASPCA’s repeated failures to keep my trust have led to me canceling my partnership with them with regard to both my insurance coverage and my Guardian Plan participation. It saddens me to pull my financial support from an organization that I once felt deeply held the same convictions towards the protection of animals that I hold dear. I attempted to express my displeasure on some direct phone conversations. I felt that it was important for me to speak to someone personally so that I might properly express where I was coming from. I was met with some very polished “Corporate Talk.” I was impressed by the resources that had obviously been utilized to prepare their customer service staff to rebuke the kinds of poor customer service that they were providing. They clearly felt their money was much better spent on training their customer service staff to provide spin for the concerns that their customers brought forth, rather than just paying out on the claims that their customers had been paying for over the course of years. I felt it was important for me to share my experience so that someone else, who may be relying on the organization to hold true to their word, might not have the rug pulled out from under them. It may not sound like it from this review, but it really does sadden me to see how a once good organization no longer lives up to their promises.

I have had Spot Insurance for nearly two years now. Our little dog Rosie started to limp and whine recently. Our vet referred us to an orthopedic vet. So far Spot Insurance has covered the expenses just as the policy promised!

Lifetime of Care for My Dog

Over the 12.5 years I was lucky to have my Monte, a yellow lab, Embrace covered him, from surgeries to repair ruptured cruciate ligaments (both knees, one year after the other) to renal issues, benign but in-the-way fatty tumors, and a thyroid condition. In all cases, Embrace helped me never think twice to get Monte the treatment he needed to live the full and wonderfully active life he did. Their service is easy to access, staff always helpful and knowledgable, and claims are paid quickly. Great service overall.
