I did the right thing to get this insurance.

I recently had to bring my cat to a vet, and it turned out he needed a stomach surgery. The total bill was about $2,000. My PetHealth insurance covered more than half of it - exactly as per my contract. I have to say this company absolutely has met my expectations in this claim, I didn't have problems, and they keep the monthly premiums low.

Great People!

We hadn't been insured with Embrace but for a couple of Months when my little buddy (Buster) hurt his right elbow. I was contacted before this by Embrace, asking why I did not have the orthopedic waiver done. We barely had enough money to buy the policy, let alone take him in for an exam. Well, a week later, he came down with a stinkin ear infection. My vet did the ortho exam at the same time for no charge. Of course his elbow injury was going to be excluded for a period, but I cannot remember how long. That was understandable, though now I had wished we had done it to begin with. About two weeks later, Buster woke me at 3am and just looked at me. A few minutes later he was in a full blown seizure. We rushed him to a local emergency vets office. At 8am, my buddy passed away. He was not even three yet. I was devistated. The only thing the doctors could figure was that he had an aneurism or some other issue in the brain. All of the other tests we did were negative. I waited a few weeks before finally submitting all of the paperwork, for the ear and seizure. I had an approval in less than 24 hours and a check in hand within a week. When they found out about Busters passing, they had refunded the balance of my premium within a couple of days, without a word. I made sure I had ALL of the required documentation prior to faxing it in, so i am sure that had something to do with their quick response. This is my experience and I will definately use them again. I appreciated the

A company well named!!

Our Bedlington Terrier has had two neurological-hyperthemic attacks with limb extension rigidity which cost me about $2000. Trupanion have been wonderful and have lived well up to their name for which I thank, and recommend, them so much!!

Only useful for accidents

Even though I have had continuous coverage for my cat for about 8 years, I found out today for the first time that a disease that manifested during the insurance company's last billing cycle is treated as a pre-existing condition in this cycle, and is not eligible for coverage. So, especially for an indoor cat, the insurance is no longer meaningful once you might actually need it. Petshealth could have warned me of this when I renewed last time, but apparently, my premium was too attractive to them. I'm disgusted.

Best Plan Out There!!

I reseached for pet insurance for my 3 dogs for months. When I came across PetFirst I was blown away by what all they covered. I am very thankful that I signed my pets up. My youngest puppy (she was 6 months at the time) fractured her tibia in Dec 07 and required surgery. Once I had submitted my claims my check was in my hand within a 8-10 days! So far they have reimbursed up to my plan per accident for her surgery (which was 1500, because I went with the basic plan). The only thing is I wish I would have picked the middle plan. It would have covered just about all of her vet bills for her surgery. Oh yeah, the routine coverage is great too! I think in total I have received almost $2000 for just one pet, $400 for the second, and $200 for the third! In all, PetFirst is very helpful and very fast with processing claims! I would recommend them to anyone who is in the market for pet insurance!

Do your homework and read the fine print!

I'm going to take part of the responsibility here in that we were naive to the number of pet insurance companies out there and just went with ASCPA because of who they were affiliated with. Big mistake. We signed up for our insurance in June. We went with the second highest coverage (Premier) for our lab mix. New Years Eve he slipped in the yard, tore his ACL and needed surgery. We knew we were going to have to eat part of the cost, but were thankful we were going to get at least part of it back. We went ahead with the surgery and submitted our claim. Whoops! ACL surgery is not covered for the first 12 months...and since you renew every year, you have to basically pony up for an entire year before they will cover something major. Many of the other pet insurance companies begin ACL coverage after just six months, which we would have been well inside of with another outfit. This is also much more expensive than other companies I have since compared it with. I plan to cancel my coverage at the end of the month after I've had his check-up and teeth cleaned...which they are supposed to pay for, so my $500 worth of premiums won't be completely wasted.

Embrace is the best for your Pets!

I investigated all of the Pet Insurance Policies on the market & Embrace is the best & way above the others for coverage & flexibility. They give you control over your deductible & out of pocket you pay. The maximum is per year, not per incident, & they cover any hereditary issues your pet may develop. The premiums are very reasonable also & less than some others companies who offer less coverage. I have made my first two claims & they do exactly what they say they will & the claims process is very informative & easy. If they cannot process on time they let you know & keep you updated. I am sooooo happy with Embrace & have already recommended them time & time again. I do not want my babies to be without them - I can have our large dogs covered allieviating the fear I cannot afford to, medically, take care of them. This is an absolute must for anyone with a pet!!!

Very pleased.

Our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel recently had bladder surgery, which was quite an expensive venture. We were so thankful we had insurance coverage, since forgoing the procedure was not an option. Throughout the entire process, the staff at Embrace was so kind, understanding, and easy to work with. The pre-approval process only took 2 days, and all of my email correspondence was responded to promptly. I really dislike dealing with health insurance for myself, but dealing with Ruby's insurance company was actually a pleasure - simple and straightforward. I recommend pet insurance to all my friends thinking about adopting a dog or cat, and now I will make sure to mention that they go with Embrace. Thanks again for your service.
