1st Claim

Filed my 1st claim since having this insurance and it was as painless as an insurance claim could be. They were all so very helpful. And they are covering my dogs elbow displasia, which so many other companies I researched wouldn't have (a big portion of why I chose this company). I can't go through another ordeal like I did with our puppy a few years ago and it is so comforting to know we have Embrace now.

Best Insurance Plan !

We have two norfolk terriers who tend to eat anything and everything they can find on the ground. They have been at their regular vet and an Emergency Pet Care center numerous times, being treated for everything from ingesting a pine cone to just plain stomach upset. This does not come cheap - and Pet's Best has paid 80% of the cost each time.

Excellent company

Our 15 year old Australian Terrier, Mattie, is very healthy, just old, so I was thrilled to be able to get her health insurance at all and for a low rate to boot. Since being covered she has had a bad ear infection and (what turned out to be) benign growths removed -- the claims were processed within two weeks and paid as promised. I recommend Pets Best Insurance to every pet owner I meet! Thank you, Pets Best!

ASPCA Insurance is responsive, honest and easy.

We have used ASPCA for over a year now. We signed up when our dog was just 4 months old. It's been a real benefit having ASPCA insurance and they could not be easier to use or more responsive. I recommend them to any pet owner.

Embrace Is Very Straightforward

We have had insurance for our Boxer through embrace now for 3 years and they have been very straightforward and honest about what is and is not covered from the start. Sending in claims is simple and they get processed in a timely manner. No complaints and I would recommend Embrace to anyone else for their pet!

insurance is good but expensive

I got insurance for my cat when at that time he was around 10 months old, PetCare is OK, the representatives are friendly & knowledgeable, but I don't have too much money, I brought the one that would cost only around $13/m, totalling around $192/yr. but the deductible was $200 which was kind of high. My cat was diagnoised with urinary track infectiion when he was 1 1/2 yr. old & my 1st vet bill was $265 including X ray, urine test, antibiotics for 2 wks., exam fee...... Since my dedutible was $200, it's really no point submitting the bill, the bill was $265 ONLY, I still had to pay for 20%. I'm not saying PetCare is not good, it's always nice if you have the extra cash to buy a better package with less deductible & higher premium. I now decide not to go with pet insurance anymore & put aside $300/yr. into a separate account for my cat should he become sick & need money to pay for those expensive vet bills. It's really up to you pet owners how you want to save money & have the money for your pets if in need, either setting up an account for your pet by putting money in every yr. or every month or pay insurance company & if your pets are healthy for that perticular yr., no illnesses nor accidents, good, but the insurance co. will eat up your monthly payments for that yr. However, if you put the money aside each month, & if your pets are healthy, the money will still be there, still at your own pocket, GET IT?!

Would Recommend

Got Trupanion's insurance this past Feb. Filed our 1st claim after our dog had an accident playing in our backyard in July. 20 minutes after I faxed the claim form/invoice from the vet hospital I received an e-mail from Trupanion saying they had received info and would begin to process. 2 hours later I got a phone call from the claims office saying they had approved claim and check would go out the next day. I received check 5 days later. All in all, a great experience and everyone was very pleasant.

Reimbursements are very SLOW!

Filed our first claim on 6/26/2008, it is now 7/21/2008...the status only shows "received", not even "processing". The brochure claims payments in 14 days! We called and they claim they are behind and are bringing in more people to assist. Also, our second claim filed on 7/16 that I emailed in so I would have a record, has not even been acknowledged yet. I resent today.

Get this insurance right away w/new pup!

In Feb. 2008, we brought home a Havanese pup. We bought our Petfirst insurance just after her first healthy-pup visit to the vet. Although that was not covered, expenses from many of her subsequent well-pup visits were--and you have to take a young pup to the vet A LOT! I do want to clarify that our puppy seems to be super healthy and so at first, the $268. (I think) premium for the BASIC plan seemed a bit hefty. However, we have already re-couped $220. of that (the annual max for routine health care). This plan will even pay $75 toward dog training classes... yearly. It was very easy to sign up over the phone. You do need to bring a blank form to the vets at the time of visit for the stamp and his/her signature, but you can put multiple items/visits on one claim form. We have submitted two claims thus far (routine care), and they were quickly processed. They even covered part of the flea/heartworm medication I bought on-line when I submitted my invoice/e-receipt. You do need to submit original receipts (make copies first) when sending in a claim. So, now our puppy is 8 months old and we effectively have only paid $48 for a premium to cover accidents and illnesses--I hope we won't have any! I have been recommending this company like crazy; we couldn't be happier.
