Always been very helpful.
Always been very helpful. Fortunately we have not had to use the insurance for any of our dogs so can’t comment on that situation.

Claim Denied via Loophole/Extreme Contract Language
Submitted a claim in Jan-2021 for cherry-eye on 1 year old puppy. Denied because I called the vet 8 months prior to being seen for the issue and asking about it over the phone. The phone inquiry was added as a medical record, so Figo claimed it as a pre-existing condition. First they said it was a denied due to vet diagnosis. The vet provided a letter that it was not a diagnosis and that it was merely a phone conversation/inquiry. Figo responded to said letter saying that it was declined due to 'clinical signs'. No one with a clinical background saw the issue until the day of surgery. So they are saying that me inquiring over the phone 8 months prior constitutes 'clinical signs'. I had no idea that I was qualified as a vet tech/veterinarian. Do not use Figo, they are a racket and don't have any intention of paying out any claims. Pathetic.

This policy has been an utter sham and…
This policy has been an utter sham and I wish we had gone with another pet insurance policy. We started the policy when we adopted our rescue dog and the rescue group had given us vet paperwork proving she was in good health at that time. Over the last few months her new vet has identified a range of issues (ear infection, itchy flakey skin requiring a prescription shampoo, bloodwork, urine tests, x-rays for a limp we noticed when she went up stairs, prescription diet for kidney issues from the bloodwork results...) It's been difficult enough for us as it is trying to help our new dog deal with medical issues, and it's been all the worse knowing we paid over $500 for Figo's "preferred plan" pet health insurance while they have systematically refused to partially pay or even consider a single dollar we've spent against our deductible. I could see maybe denying one or two issues, but it's utterly unacceptable to say after thousands of dollars of vet bills that Figo's pet health insurance would refuse to cover a single dollar. I cannot stress enough how shady this company is. Do NOT open a plan with then if you expect them to actually help cover any medical expenses that arise.

Would not recommend
I really wanted to like this company but they are extremely slow at processing claims and will have you on hold easily for over half an hour just to talk to someone on the phone. Their breakdown of a processed claim makes absolutely no sense, and they encourage you to call them if you have questions, yet they have you on hold so long that it turns the whole thing into a huge hassle. Their phone representatives are really nice though so I'll give them that. However when comparing the experiences to my other dog's insurance where you talk to someone in less than 5 minutes and claims are processed fast, i would not recommend Pets Best. Before this experience I recommended Pets Best to my brother who ended up insuring his dog with them, but hopefully he will have better experiences than I've had.

Extremely easy experience from start to finish
Everything is as easy as I expected when I brought my 12 week old puppy for his second round of vaccinations. I was not sure on what was covered so I sent in screenshots of the invoice from the vet and Pets Best looked it over and told me what was covered and what was not (with an explanation of why it wasn’t). Took about 2 weeks from the submission date to payout date. An extremely easy experience all around.
