Expensive, Slow, Few Benefits

Unlike the VPI Pet Insurance policy, the primary Embrace policy covers relatively little. Despite having well over $1000 in vet bills since that time, the Embrace accident/injury policy has covered nothing (whereas the generic VPI policy would have). Do not be fooled into thinking that you will be able to add a wellness benefit later; they will not let you during the course of an insurance term. I chose Embrace in part because I expected that the extra cost would be worth what I perceived to be superior customer service. I was wrong about that. To make matters worse, I have had to wait for nearly a month to receive a decision on my claim. I had to call them in order to get a response. I would only recommend Embrace if you are absolutely sure that you want nothing other than accident coverage. I sincerely wish I had chosen VPI insurance as my vet originally recommended.

Poor

Buyer beware is correct. No reimbursement whatsoever for an expensive surgery that they considered "one incident" that they combined with three other separate vet visits - to a different vet!! I called and complained stating it was not "one incident" but three separate incidents. Now I am screwed with a $4,500 surgery bill. This insurance was USELESS. I am cancelling my policy immediately.

Coverage bait and switch - Beware!

I was an Embrace customer for almost two years, and was happy the first year and the first time I had to make a claim, they paid promptly. This year (my second year) they sent an email to all customers with policy changes. These changes basically eliminate coverage for anything that Embrace considers "preventable" or that there is a vaccine for, and it goes on to say that even if your dog has been vaccinated, if they contract an illness, you must seek damages from the manufacturer, not Embrace! Here is their quote: “Example: If a pet is vaccinated against Parvo, but still contracts Parvo, the vaccine manufacturer is at fault and may be liable for the veterinary costs to treat the Parvo.” Good luck making any claim for any illness with that type of policy. The icing on the cake was when my dog recently had a UTI. I filed a claim and Embrace requested my dog’s medical history going back three years before they can process the claim, I can only assume that they did this so that they can investigate whether or not they could wiggle their way out of paying the medical costs. After I had been a customer for almost two years, they randomly sent me an email that they will not cover foreign body ingestion for my dog because he previously was treated for a foreign body ingestion two years ago! So, they eliminated any “preventable” illnesses, accidents, vaccinated related conditions, and now foreign body ingestion. What the heck is left besides being run over by a car

Worse than Obamacare

I have had ASPCA plans on two dogs for about a year. They have had exclusions for every illness or injury claim I have submitted. A complete waste of money. Shopping for something better. You would think that an organization like the ASPCA would offer a better product.

Very pleased so far!

We just had our puppy spayed, and the same day we faxed the claim to Embrace we had a reply via email. Within a week or so we had a reimbursement check, as we have the Wellness plan. I could not be more pleased so far, we've had excellent, prompt communication and fast payment. And now that our puppy has been spayed and microchipped our monthly premiums are just over $3 less.

We're still thrilled with Embrace a year later...

The level of customer service and the speed of reimbursements has been stellar. I especially love the way they always ask you to give your dog belly rubs from them. :-) I'd recommend Embrace to anyone.

Efficient, effective and personal

We have had Embrace Pet Insurance for about 8 months and our little Naia has had some issues. Not every claim has resulted in a reimbursement but even when our claim has been denied we have been satisfied because of quick and effective communication. When our most recent claim was filed, we were reimbursed immediately and without any hassle. Embrace has been outstanding and treats our pet and us with great respect and caring.

Peace of Mind for my cats

I previously owned 2 cats and 1 dog. Our cats were 13 and 18 when they passed. Our dog, 14 yrs and we lost her this year. My husband and I decided to adopt cats and we ended up with three from the shelter. They are a delight, but we wanted to make sure they were covered with insurance. Our previous pets werent. We are glad we have decided to go with ASPCA for our insurance after reviewing the others that are out there.

HealthyPaws is the way to go, they really care

Before I went with Healthy Paws, I spent hours on line trying to find the right pet insurance comparing them all side by side. What I liked about healthy paws was there were no annual or incident limits as well as 90% reimbursement. The first time I submitted a claim, I received a call a few days later from Jen calling to see how both my dogs were doing and when I have time if I could send them pics of my dogs. You can tell from her voice she really cared and I was in Aww, if only they would cover humans, I would switch over in a heartbeat. They gave me No Hassel about my claim and I received a check not even a week later. Jen even stated that if my dog needed this medication for the rest of her life, it would be covered, at no additional cost. Every now and then I receive a call from Jen to see how my dogs are going and to let me know they are there for me and are truly concerned.

Absolutely Fantastic!

I've had my companion animals insured by other companies; however, they, like many human insurers use a schedule of fees and payments. Pets Best does not. They offer a flat rate of 80 percent of balance, after deductible (in our case $100.00) and a 20 percent co-payment. No schedule of fees, no denials unless for preexisting condition at time of enrollment. A recent, sort of miraculous example of their promptness occurred when I submitted a bill on Thursday night for nearly $700 for chemotherapy for my one of my cats. The very next day I received an email stating the claim had been processed and I'd have the reimbursement deposited to my account the next business day (the following Monday). That's a total, including the weekend, of less than four days to get payment. Monday morning showed a Pets Best deposit of nearly $600 in my bank account. Got to say my relationship with this insurer is the best. Now if they can only get the veterinarians to accept direct payment in full for their services... What a miracle that would be.
