Pets best lives up to its name, clearly the best for keeping my pet healthy
if only human insurance was as fair and easy to use as Pets Best. We would all be healthier and happier. My pup ate a grape and was in the ICU for 3 days. Pets Best very quickly came through with reimbursement. I will never have a pet without Pets Best insurance again.

Trupanion is such an amazing company
Trupanion is such an amazing company. Unfortunately our little Julio ( French Bulldog) fractured his bone and Trupanion took care of the claim in less than 48 hours! Peace of mind!

Beyond Impressed
I have always had insurance for our cats but have never had to 'use' it. Nash, our first dog, entered our lives full of love and life and then at 5 months old he was unexpectedly diagnosed with a rare urinary issue that required surgery. I am BEYOND IMPRESSED with Trupanion's diligence and prompt processing of claims. They have must this incredibly stressful time in our lives easier in knowing that we would be taken care of via our policy. Each Trupanion rep I spoke with over the phone was incredibly genuine, patient, and kind. Our family appreciates each and every one of you!

I’m amazed and relieved to have such great coverage!
I’m not happy that my little dog who is not yet two years old, has had to suffer through so many tests and procedures but I am so happy that I chose Trupanion to cover her health care costs. My vet assures me that with proper care Mindy could live to a ripe old age!! Trupanion is helping me manage the costs of that care. Thank you!

Terrible pet insurance - one of the few that does not cover if your puppy ingest something he shouldn’t.
I signed up for Trupanion specifically because my puppy will eat anything on the ground. I mentioned this in my sign up call as well and they said that ingestion of foreign objects was definitely covered. When my dog needed to have emergency surgery because he ate 2 socks, I called ahead to Trupanion and was assured it was covered. Two weeks later they denied my claim and said that since he had ingested an item before that we had taken him to the vet for, the policy will never cover him ingesting items - throughout his life, despite what their own rep said to me on the phone! I am currently trying to extricate myself from Trupanion so I can get real pet insurance - most others cover this. Read the Consumer affairs reviews and go with anyone else.

Healthy paws literally saved Betsy’s life
I cannot say enough good things about healthy paws. Without this insurance I wouldn’t have been able to afford to treat my dog’s pneumonia and I would have had to put her down or let her die. In the past month Betsy’s treatment has included emergency room visits, hospital stays, oxygen chamber , meds, X-rays , and blood work . The cost to date is close to $10,000 and still counting. I charge the visit and file the claim immediately. I have been receiving claim payments deposited directly into my bank account within 2-3 days of filing the claim. The coverage amount is unlimited. The things that are not covered are the office visits/consult and the typical well care like vaccines and prevention. That is small concession to make to have all the other benefits. I had another Shihtzu prior to Betsy who had pet insurance from another company that started with a “V” . They always seemed to find a reason not to pay a claim. I urge anyone with a pet to consider this company. I have recommended them to many of my friends who have pets and they have been happy with them as well.

Very disappointed
All the reviews looked great until I actually received this insurance. I took my dog in for a tummyache during the first two week waiting period, and understood he couldn’t get it covered during that time. However, I was shocked to hear that SPOT pet insurance we consider that a pre-existing condition. That’s right...an upset stomach from eating grass (new dog owner so didn’t know this is common), is considered pre-existing condition, which meant that for the next SIX months they wouldn’t cover any medical accident or ill as involving his stomach. And then, when I politely asked to cancel my insurance, I got an automated response telling me that it was canceled. Yes that is what I wanted, but to not receive a personalized message or at least an attempt to keep me as a customer or understand the problem was wildly disappointing. Would absolutely not recommend. EDIT: in response to their response, It’s one thing to respect a user’s desire to cancel, but whether a company tries to keep their customers and actually fix their issues before letting them go says a lot about their customer service philosophy. And regarding the pre-existing conditions, the issue is the fact that you would consider an isolated upset stomach situation as a pre-existing condition. I hope others have had a better experience, but regardless I recommend the company take ownership over their areas of improvement.
