Satisfied with Service, Little Interaction

I have had very little interaction with ASPCA. I have had the policy for a couple of years (maybe 5-6) and have found little need to claim anything thank god. They have responded to claims in a timely manner. I had several small claims that added up to a significant amount.

MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN

My family and I decided to help the local animal shelter by adopting two of their dogs. First came Frankie, who was 4-months at the time (hound mix) and then came Nacho (a pug mix) who was 1-2 years at the time. I never gave it a thought into buying health insurance until my local vet try to sell me one. When I read the brochure it didn't impress me much and I decided to do a google search. After much research and review at settled at TRUEPANION and what a wonderful match. Not only did it fit my budget but my needs. A couple of months later, our Frankie started limping and he was diagnosed with a torn knee ligament and had his first orthopedic surgery. A year later he had a luxating patella and another torn knee ligament on the opposite leg. What a journey and one that I couldn't have done myself as I was not only in panic mode every time but financially it would haven't been possible without TRUEPANION. Life happens and being parent is sure a learning curve. This year our pug-mixed was diagnosed with an enlarged heart and other digestive disorders and again TRUEPANION was there supporting us from day 1. As an animal guardian, it is my moral responsibility to take care of my dogs and by being vigilant about their diets, lifestyle, health screens, etc....that contribute to an overall wellness. I can't even imagine to put down a healthy and lovable animal because of money or worst for the mistakes one takes as an animal guardian (again the learning curve). My TRUEPANION experience has been stellar from friendly and supportive service over the phone (yes there has been times when I have called with a broken voice) to timely refunds. I wished my human insurance will work like TRUEPANION where the well-being of the pet is the priority while meeting the needs of the animal guardian. I am very thankful for every minute a TRUEPANION staff member has taken whether to take my call, fill out my form, process my refund check, or call to follow. But what I love the most about this relationship with TRUEPANION, is my ability to provide the best care to my two little angels and for that I will forever be grateful.

Glad I had insurance

Hi , my dog Bear was ( Pomeranian / Chihuahua mix ) attacked by another dog and all I can say is that first of all he is completely healed , but I was so glad I had pet health insurance as the surgery he had to have was substantial and the cost was overwhelming .The person of the wishes dog left without saying were he lives or his name ,so we could not get that money back from them . I myself was injured and required emergency room help as he attacked me to . The amount we received from ASPCA was more than I though we would receive and that helped us tremendously . You just never know the future of all that can happen in a pets life .This attack was right in front of our house and felt save .In all the 12 years we have had the pleasure of owning this "Angel" never had this happened to us !! Thank you , Belinda

Exceptional & dependable service

I was very reluctant to get pet insurance at first questioning whether it would pay as promised if I ever needed it. However, I decided to give it a try after researching various companies and I am happy to say that I could not be more pleased with the experience and outcome that I had with Healthy Paws. My dog tore her CCL and needed TPLO surgery costing over $3000.00. With no questions asked other than official documentation of her history they covered the vet bill as promised and in a very timely manner. For anyone having second thoughts about pet insurance...don't. Healthy Paws is a honest and dependable company that truly cares about your pet.

Trupanion is a Racquet

Within a month of enrolling with Trupanion my border collie suffered a knee injury after she tripped on uneven ground in our backyard and began limping. My veterinarian diagnosed her injury as CCL strain or partial tear. I got the ball rolling with Trupanion to obtain TPLO surgery pre-approval and was very satisfied with the helpfulness of the representatives that I talked to. However I was not pleased with the outcome of the pre-approval when my claim was denied. It was on the basis that CCL injuries are considered an "illness" rather than an "injury" and at the time we submitted the claim, my dog was not yet past the illness coverage waiting period of 30 days. I read my policy and understand the waiting periods, but what I don't understand is why my dog's knee INJURY was considered an illness. Upon asking for clarification from Trupanion on illness vs. injury I was told that an injury is caused by an accident while an illness is not caused by an accident. I then asked what is considered an accident. Per Trupanion "To clarify the difference between an accident and an illness, an example of an accident would be something like a pet spraining a leg jumping off a table as opposed to an illness like the animal developing a bacterial infection" Based on the fact that my dog's injury was indeed the result of an accident, my vet and I worked together to explain to appeal the denial. This process took several months (of which I was paying the monthly premium), and it was denied for a second time. I am so thoroughly disappointed with Trupanion and how they could deny the evidence and testimony given by my vet. I can't stand by a company who claims to be in the best interest of pets and yet finds a way around actually helping them. I understand that in some situations people can truly benefit from insurance, but in our experience Trupanion was a complete waste of our time and money.

Smooh as sillk

I recently signed up with Trupanion when I got my new dog. My first claim was handled quickly and seamlessly. I was very pleased with the amount covered, and especially happy that I didn't have to pay upfront and wait for a claim to be processed. Her mishap with the stone could have been fatal so I am very lucky in many ways.
