They say the rate is not affected by your dog aging but my rates have gone up every year to the point they are now over 30$ more than when I first started. They will tell you it is based on the average cost per bread in that area but no way has it gone up that much especially year after year. False advertising and poor rates compared to everyone else. Never again.

I am very unhappy with this insurance and would not recommend them at all. I spoke with a representative when I first purchased this insurance and it was never explained that they get to decide how much they are willing to pay for something and you get reimbursed from they decided something is worth. For example my dog injured her tail and we had to have it amputated. The vet charged me $137 for the amputation ASPCA decided the amputation was worth $120 so (after the deductible I was reimbursed 90% of $120. SO MISLEADING!!!!! My total vet bill was $704 I had a $100 deductible but I was only reimbursed $434. EVERY SINGLE ITEM on my bill was over the ASPCA allowable amount (so I lost money on ALL of it) The allowable amount on one of the prescriptions my dog had was $.54 where can I get a prescription for under a dollar!!! I would not recommend this company and I think they are very deceitful!!

we have a 4 year old domestic short hair cat. we divide our year between NY and California. We have had a claim rising in each location. The company processed our claims very quickly and issued reimbursement. we have NO reservations about ASPCA.

Get your pet insured right away, you never know when a medical situation will arise and your pet suddenly needs surgery.

Healthy Paws website was easy to use and they kept us updated with the progress of the claim, the check came through before my credit card bill was due which was a huge relief!

Petunia is our 3 dog, we had 2 boxers before her. Healthy paws covered everything that they said they would and made my cat's root canal affordable. I'm a vet student, so cost is always something I'm wary of! I'm so glad that I had the pet insurance to take care of my little fur ball, and now he's eating as though nothing ever happened! They handled my claim as soon as I submitted it, and the check is in the mail now! When I graduate, I plan to recommend this insurance to all of my clients, as it really takes the stress off from expensive procedures such as this. It makes it a lot easier to afford these, and also easier in that it allows the vet to give the best possible standard of care, without having to cut corners for cost reasons. Healthy paws is a great investment for any good pet parent who can't afford to pay hundreds to thousands of dollars out of pocket!
