Received a trial package for a kitten I adopted from a rescue. Made claims in June 2014 for vet bills. Got back assessment excluding a portion of the claim saying they don't cover this type of illness ( originally I was told there were no exclusions). Then when I called they changed the reasoning saying it was a pre existing issue. What wouldn't be pre existing on a rescue kitten with 6 weeks coverage!?!?!?!?! Isn't the purpose of the trial to protect rescue adopters from unknown costs?????Anyways it took 3 months. Not the 4 weeks originally indicated to get a response from the first claim. Then my vet called to further discuss the rest of the bill first week of September and when I called today (October 27) they are telling me no call had been made to dispute claim?!?!?! I am so glad I did not buy into the policy. If this is how they service plan holders who are testing a service out to later buy, I can only imagine how I would be treated when they have nothing else to gain!!! Instead I have started a savings plan with the fees I would have paid which btw adds up to over $600 a year which is far more than I'm sure they would ever pay out anyways

I cannot say enough good things about Healthy Paws! I've had a bad experience with other insurance companies not reimbursing any of our claims, but so far we've been reimbursed for all non pre-existing conditions, and it's been super helpful. Our dog was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor and needed a couple surgeries to remove enough margins, because the location of the tumor was difficult to properly extract. After two surgeries, we were so pleased with the ability to be reimbursed 80% of the money we had to spend on our precious pup. The customer service is also spectacular. I highly recommend Healthy Paws!

I chew everything I can get my paws on. The first time I ate 28 copper pennies & had to have surgery. The second time I ate rocks & had to have another surgery. After thousands of dollars my play area has no rocks and has a "special artificial grass" so that I can romp & play safely. It is a lot of work being a 75 pound puppy. I am satisfied with the outcome of all my claims. My old dog is 15 and the young one is 6 and they both have PetFirst coverage and it is very reasonable.

The claims process is well streamlined, and I am so much less scared of the financial part of major illness/injury for my dogs. Impressive stuff. The only part that isn't 100% clear and streamlined is when a part of the claim gets turned down (not frequently, but it does happen). There isn't really an explanation when this happens, just a check for the rest of the claim.

My golden brink like is your typical over achiever!!!! Another words she gets into just about everything plus has a chronic case of pancreatitis. We have had PetFirst since she was a puppy and they have always been there for us. They pay quickly, and it's fairly simple to file a claim. I know that I can take the best care of my girl because of the best pet insurance behind us 100%.

It had only been about a week since we adopted our pup and she came down with something in the middle of the night that had us rushing to the emergency room. Thankfully after two visits to the vet in 24 hours we found out she would be ok. We were unprepared for filing our claim when we rushed to the ER and fortunately it was very easy to file the claim after the fact and the service representative clearly explained what forms I needed to submit. Within two weeks we received our claim. Very easy process and we were very happy to have signed her up for coverage

Pet insurance allows you the leeway to make decisions about your pet's health needs based on what is best for your pet, not just on what you have in your bank account. We've always said we never want to give up on a pet or deny care simply because of the expense.And, yes, like human insurance they don't pay everything, but for a reasonable monthly fee, they give you backup and peace of mind. I wouldn't be without it. We've had a number of dogs and cats covered over the years and Petshealth Care Plan has always treated us fairly.

I HAVE NEVER DEALT WITH A COMPANY THAT OFFERS SUCH GREAT SERVICE AND ALWAYS HAVE MY CLAIMS DEALT WITH IN SUCH A FAST MANNER. I ALWAYS GET MY CLAIM CHECK WITHIN A WEEK TO 10 DAY. AWESOME. THANK YOU.
