Healthy Paws will be right there for you and your pet when you need them most!
A couple of weeks ago, my dog Annie developed a sudden and aggressive form of gastroenteritis that landed her in the ICU. It took all of 3 days of round-the-clock care before she began to rally. She is now home with me and on her way to a full recovery. The critical care she required would have been difficult to afford without Healthy Paws. But, not only did they take up the lion's share of the bills, they made the process of submitting an invoice effortless, and they paid them quickly. And to top it all off, yesterday they called us to ask how Annie was doing. We are grateful beyond measure for their support. Thank you, Healthy Paws!

Our 4-Legged daughter would have had to be put down without the insurance.
Nicky is a rescue. Her back leg always seemed a little weak, but didn't stop her from running, jumping, playing. A few months ago, it becamse painful. Our vet checked and said there was some inflammation and gave us pills. Didn't work so tried a DVM Chiropractor. Helped somewhat, but after 4 adjustments and anti-inflammatory pills, it just wasn't working. Back to original vet who took X-rays and found a Cruciate Ligament Tear. Apparently, during the X-ray, major damage was done to the spine. Surgery scheduled with specialist, but once he saw her, said there was more going on, so he gave her an epideral. In less than 2 weeks, epideral was wearing off, so a 2nd epideral was scheduled. Again when he saw her, said she really needed an MRI with another specialist. That showed bulging disc pressing against the nerve -- but on the right side -- Not the left where the original knee problem started. Now both surgeriers were recommended, and a 2nd epideral was given. Even with insurance couldn't afford both surgeries. After 2-1/2 weeks, the back actually seemed to be getting better, so the ACL surgery was again scheduled. After only one day, she is sore, but up and around and doing fantastically. Nicky is both my Service Dog and a Therapy, so we are together 24/7. Had it not been for the insurance, the pain would have continued to get worse, and she would have had to be put down. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

The Best Insurance
This is the best insurance I have found for my girl. She has a lot of allergies and requires medication every month, and sometimes is prone to getting into trouble. And this insurance is the best fit for her. I have her customized and I have never had a problem since purchasing this over two years ago. The turn around getting my claim done is awesome and goes right into our account. I make sure I tell everyone about this insurance and our vet now gives out Nationwide as a go to for pet insurance. Ya'll are the go to for insurance and its very affordable and coverage is wonderful.

Very disappointed with claim process
I have had Trupanion for many years and have never made a Claim. Recently, we needed to take our Pet the a Vet ER. She was in Respiratory Distress and this is life threatening. I filed a claim only to have it denied stating this was a Pre-existing conditioning. The ER Vet also thought our Pet had a Heart Murmur which was news to us. We brought our Pet to our Vet who confirmed she did not nor has she ever had a Heart Murmur. Despite submitting all the necessary medical records to dispute this, I am now informed my Vet must submit and appeal. I am not certain who they use to review the claims but it is apparent they do not know medical terminology. or the hope is the Vet will not have time to dispute. This was the first claim I submitted and our Pet is 12 years old. Very disappointed that they are making this so difficult and I do not understand why I have been paying monthly premiums only to be denied coverage. I would not recommend Trupanion

I'm so thankful that I purchased insurance on my pet. It helps me take care of him better because I couldn't afford all the me
I'm so thankful that I purchased insurance on my pet. It helps me take care of him better because I couldn't afford all the vet Bill's and preventive health checkups without it. I have peace of mind knowing that whatever the cost is Nationwide pet insurance will be reimbursing some of it back to me. So easy and quick to file a claim

Excellent for Rabbits, Easy Claims Service
A fantastic option for rabbits and exotics, as well as cats and dogs. I thought I was being a paranoid nutcase when I got Yogi (a bunny) vet insurance but I can honestly say it was the best decision I've made in years. Whether or not Nationwide's pet insurance is worth it is likely dependent on how many pre-exisiting conditions your pet has. Nationwide is very transparent when you sign up for the 90% of everything coverage plan (Whole pet with wellness). They send you a document listing pre-existing conditions that will be excluded from coverage. It is super important to note that you CAN contest these, and that if a condition has been cured and your animal has not received treatment for it in 6 months, they will remove it as a pre-existing condition. But only if you file for it to be removed. When I signed Yogi up, they listed two pre-existing conditions (soft tissue injury and a food allergy) but I was able to submit further documents to prove these were either no longer applicable or not accurate and now he has no exclusions on his policy! A month after signing up, Yogi developed a antibiotic resistant URI. The vet bills have been astronomical as the vet tried to treat it and rule out other possible causes. And if that wasn't enough, he then had a bout of GI stasis that warranted an emergency room visit. But Nationwide has covered everything. I have never had to debate getting the best possible care for Yogi vs how much I could afford to spend. The claims process is super easy and all of my claims have been approved and paid within 10 days of submission. Seriously so grateful to Nationwide Pet Insurance
