Illegal marketing tactics
They purchased my email and phone number illegally from my vet, and began sending unsolicited emails and texts. Their marketing does not comply with CAN-SPAM (no permission was obtained) and if their practices are anything like their unethical and illegal marketing, stay far away.

Great experience
Very quick response and supportive during a very stressful time when our pooch was VERY Ill. Thank goodness- now he is on the mend thanks to our pet insurance allowing us to easily make medical decisions knowing we were backed by our insurance.

SO GRATEFUL TO HAVE TRUPANION INSURANCE!
I am thankful to have insurance with Trupanion as I have had to use it, unfortunately. It has helped save me a ton of money in the long run with the conditions that my dog is experiencing during this season of his life. The claim process with Trupanion is very easy and seamless. I appreciate the overall customer service.

One of the best decisions we made for our boys was Healhy Paws
We lost our Sarabelle to osteosarcoma in 2012, and the treatment costs were onerous. So, when we brought the littermate brothers Sammie and Elias, and our heeler hybrid Sitka Rose into our lives, we decided to purchase pet life insurance. We researched and decide on Healthy Pet. Part of the reason is that we can predict and plan in the costs of maintenance - the vaccines, physicals, etc. However, we can not whether our family members will have accidents, or catestrophic illnesses or health conditions and those costs are the ones that are financial killers. So we decided on Healthy Paws. It was a decision that we do not regret as our two boys, healthy most of their lives, have had structural and health conditions this past year. With the two of them together the costs have been a burden that Healthy Paws has relieved us of by their compassionate and prompt processing of the boys' vet claims. We feel fortunate to have Healthy Paws there for us.

This company is absolutely impossible to get a hold of! After 2 weeks, there is still no response from an email inquiry I sent. I was disconnected from their helpline twice, with no call backs.

DO NOT BUY A POLICY WITH TRUPANION
I enrolled with Trupanion in April 2021, paying approx. $150 for enrollment and the first month's premium. After a 30 day waiting period, during which I received no coverage, I was charged the 2nd month's premium. Approx. 2 weeks later (a total 6 weeks after enrollment and after paying a total of $250), they notified me to visit the website for a list of all the exclusions from coverage under the policy. The list of conditions excluded was 2 pages long and excluded virtually everything. I cancelled the policy and I expected a full refund (with the exception of the approx $50 enrollment fee). What I got was a $6.31 credit. So they charged me approx $240 for no effective coverage and they took 6 weeks to notify me of the exclusions from coverage. Today after some research I discovered that Trupanion has been the subject of several lawsuits and has been fined almost $500,000 by the Attorneys General of at least 2 states for dishonest business practices. I am going to lodge a complaint with the Florida Department of Consumer Affairs in Tallahassee. Do yourself a favor and don't wait until its too late. I don't usually review companies that I deal with. I don't usually need to and if I have a problem, the company always does the right thing. In conversations with Trupanion's customer service (and I use the term loosely), they made it clear that they do not care about doing the right thing.
