Although no payment was made the claim was handled expeditiously. We did not expect reimbursement in any case. At least you paid attention to the claim. Now another claim is in the mail (which took some searching to find out how to do it.)

Look for excuses to deny your claims
I've had this policy for 2 years paid in over 1,000 and my very first claim for double ear infections they denied it because when she was a puppy she had a belly rash and said that's a pre-existing medical issue! They said allergy related even though my vet never stated it was allergy related. I am appealing it now and the vet is backing me. I do NOT recommend Trupanion.

Trupanion is a very good pet insurance
Trupanion is a very good pet insurance. My dog is 12 1/2 years old and had to have ACL surgery and recovered well. Trupanion paid 90% of the cost less the deductible. Than she had to have herniated disk surgery she wasn't walking and now she is walking and running around. Without this insurance we wouldn't have been able to afford the two surgeries. Now our dog has quality of life.

Unprofessional hard to contact company
This pet insurance company is underwritten by C & F Insurance Agency, which seems like a small, unprofessional business. Contacting customer service is always a half hour to an hour wait time. When representatives answer I have had a horrible time dealing with everything from billing to claims. I would not recommend this insurance company.

Only English...
I haven't had to use my insurance yet. I hear a lot of great comments from Trupanion. The only negative remark I have to make would be that you are unilingual English. It's a bit sad.

My dog required surgery to remove a growth towards the end of last year. Not only did Healthy Paws quickly review my claim and reimburse me, but a member of their team emailed me a few days later to check in to see how he was doing after surgery. I thought that was so incredibly nice and above and beyond anything I’ve ever experienced from my own doctor or health insurance. If you are looking for health insurance for your pet, I would highly recommend Healthy Paws!
