Our dog has had a few medical issues…
Our dog has had a few medical issues (allergies, tumor removals, etc) which have been pretty expensive to manage. Getting the estimates from the vet have been less of a shock knowing that we have insurance and will be reimbursed. It's quick and easy to upload a claim and I typically see reimbursement in my account within a few days. Trupanion has been a life saver for our dog's health, our stress level and our pocketbook!

Do not Purchase this Insurance
This pet insurance is the worst pet insurance company i have ever worked with. Their app never works, their new "online automated" system is a joke. I have been working on the same insurance claim for over 90 days. They asked me to re-open it 6 different times because they closed it after saying they didn't have enough documentation. When I send them all the documentation, the files don't get associated with the proper claim. THEN to make matters even worse if you try and call them you will wait on hold for no less than 30 minutes (doesn't matter time of day). The person on the phone will tell you it is sorted, and then incorrectly change the claim. SO now 1 claim that i am looking for coverage on because my dog had emergency care is probably going to sit in a dark admin abyss because they system says I am trying ot make a claim for a date range that spans 3 years. They asked me for 3 years of medical records, and they attached it to a claim so now it looks like I want reimbursement for all 3 years which I don't! I just want 1 date covered.

I’ve had a great experience so far. I’ve never had to put in a claim, but I am worried about the process after getting insurance years into their life, where something could be considered pre-existing- even if it isn’t actually true
