I'm a first time pet-owner and recently adopted two healthy kittens. At 5 months of age one of them began to lose his balance, sometimes crashing to the ground and banging his head in a potentially dangerous way, and the vet discovered a polyp in his inner ear that would require surgery in a distant town. I was shocked, largely because my kitten had seemed healthy, and could hardly have been more worried about my furry baby. Then came the even bigger shock of the $4,000 bill for the surgery, to be paid upfront. Not only was I feeling sick with worry, I was also losing 3 days of work and couldn't help feeling upset and overwhelmed by the expense. I had purchased Healthy Paws pet insurance when I first brought my kittens home, but wasn't sure that I would be able to count on them in my hour of need. It was with enormous relief and gratitude that I learned that they were covering 90% of the cost of the surgery (according to my particular plan) and that a check would be coming in the mail right away. The animal hospital simply faxed my invoice to them, and they responded the very next day to let me know my claim was being processed, and possibly even just a few hours later to let me know how much they would reimburse me. It's expensive to be a responsible pet parent, and I've felt the pinch of paying for spaying/neutering, immunizations, and high quality food, but I'd never expected my seemingly healthy kitten to get so sick. I can not recommend Healthy Paws highly enough.

chose Healthy Paws for my two dogs, a French Bulldog and a Pug, because of their high ratings. When I first chose to have them insured, I did not know much about health insurance. I wan't entirely certain that my dogs would require insurance, however when my baby, the Frenchie began having symptoms of losing weight, regurgitating, and vomiting, I did not second guess whether or not I could afford it. She required a lot of diagnostic testing and medication for her condition and I was able to afford to see a specialist. In the coming weeks, she also began to present symptoms of IVDD. I was devastated however I was able to afford an MRI which ranges in cost from $2,000 - $2,900 and once again, the decision to push forward with further testing with a neurologist was without question. I chose the plan that covered 90 % reimbursement, which was the best choice for me. She is only a 1 and a 1/2 and although she has had a few hiccups in her health I can't even begin to thank Healthy Paws to able to afford the specialists and medications required for her condition. My pets name was Dulce, a 4 yr 10 month female German Shepherd. She was diagnosed with a fungal infection that attacked her right paw at 3-1/2 years. At the time, she survived and only sustained an amputation of her first digit. Unfortunately, the fungal infection was systemic and continued to attack her body. Approximately a year later she contracted fungal spinal meningitis and believe it or not she survived that. Approximately 4 months later the fungus began to attack her right hip. I was in the process of attempting to obtain a CT scan and possible bone biopsy when the fungus attacked her kidneys. Her kidneys could not sustain the final attack to her fragile body and on October 28 she was euthanized. Embrace Pet Insurance was by my side throughout the entire time. Never did this pet insurance company give me difficulty in covering her cost. I had an annual $10,000 policy with a $200 deductible. They covered 80% of the cost. I would comfortably say that my pet had better insurance than most people had with Obamacare. I would highly recommend this insurance company to anyone seeking a good pet insurance. I lost my English bulldog a few months ago and it was the hardest day of my life. I am still paying off the night I lost her. I got a new bulldog and have this one covered. Her vet visits and emergencies are covered and it's peace of mind. 5)3 full reimbursements are always on time. It feels great to be covered, not paying a million dollars, I get money back and all the customer service agents have been so helpful.

Our 1 year old American Bulldog underwent surgery a month ago and since we have never used pet insurance we had to call the customer service to understand the process. They told us what to do and walked us through all we need before, and after the surgery. The reimbursement process was easy and it was given to us in a good timely manner. We have insured Louis and Lyle for about 3 years and it was one of the best decisions we have made. The monthly rate is very reasonable for two dogs and the coverage has been wonderful. We highly recommend it.
