Very Helpful Product

My cat Sapphire developed renal disease a couple of years ago (he is currently 18 years old now). I have had no issues with Trupanion's handling of my cat's renal claims, and have received timely processing, and payments after I exceeded the deductible. The insurance will definitely pay for itself, as even one small incident can turn into a large vet bill quickly. Very good investment to have for your pet, definitely recommend it.

Best money ever spent

My yellow Lab's been with Trupanion since he was 6-months, and needed assistance with spinal issues before age 2. My boy is now 10 and his coverage has paid 90% of meds, operations, accidents, and special treatments. My vet faxes in the form and I'm reimbursed quickly. Excellent insurance model + caring staff = happy customer!

Best decision I've made for my chihuahua

Nearly 11 months after I joined Embrace, my chihuahua had emergency pyometra surgery with bills over $3000 from the emergency clinic, numerous blood tests, etc. Embrace covered 80% minus the deductible, which helped a lot. It i the best decision I've made for my chihuahua. The customer service is helpful and responsive. They reply email fast. I would definitely recommend Embrace to my friends.

Life Saver (Financially)

I have three SC Wheaten Terriers, two of which are highly allergic. So now after lots of antibiotics and such, they are on life time allergy shots. Trupanion covers 90% for me, so I'm very grateful. Plus, the vet submits the claim online and I pay the difference at checkout.

Extremely pleased!

I have had this insurance for the past five years and I have been very pleased overall. Whenever I had a question or needed to submit a claim, it was very easy and it was processed very quickly. I have referred at least three people to get it and the ease of using the mobile app is truly great. Claims are completed within a couple weeks. I am so very happy to have this and would highly recommend it to anyone with a four legged family member!

Stay way from 24petwatch

I took the "gift of insurance" for the first month after adopting my dog, then purchased a plan when the month was up. During the second month, my dog was getting really ill; at first it seemed to be fairly common/non-serious ailments but he just kept getting sicker and it took a couple of weeks before he was actually diagnosed with a serious fungal infection at an emergency vet hospital. My dog - who seemed normal and healthy while at the shelter and when I adopted him - ended up dying in the hospital, less than TWO MONTHS after I adopted him. it was traumatizing. And of course, 24PetWatch made everything worse by denying the bulk of the costs. I paid about $2600 for the hospital bills (that's not including the previous costs I paid to the regular vet, which weren't insignificant). And this ridiculous company did rejected my claim because they deemed it a "pre-existing" condition. Similar to a couple other reviewers, the 14/15-day grace period was what screwed me over. Even though he wasn't diagnosed with the illness until AFTER that grace period was over, they found whatever they could in his records to point to symptoms he had shown previously. He had had a few prior, minor ailments and yes he had minor symptoms for those- but this was a very serious illness that was not detectable until later, AFTER the grace period. I disputed it and the vets wrote letters supporting the dispute and describing WHY it did not make sense to classify it as a pre-existing condition. These are doctors who know what they're talking about, but to a company like this, that doesn't matter. They rejected it again, maintaining their ridiculous arguments. I put some blame on myself for not having done enough research prior to choosing an insurance company . because if I had, I never would have chosen this joke of a company, based on tons of poor reviews. They make a big show of be SO CARING and so helpful when you sign up. but if/when things happen, good luck. you'd be so much better off choosing another company. you'd probably even be better off with no pet insurance at all, rather than use 24petwatch. at least then you wouldn't be throwing monthly payments at them only to be given absolutely nothing in return. Oh yeah, like some other customers, I also experienced them claiming they never received a claim or a claim dispute -- despite my vet office saying all the faxes they sent went through. So please please please don't use this worthless company -- don't make my mistake of n

Glad we bought it

Our pit-bull hound mix is almost 9 years old. We bought VPI (now Nationwide) 3 years ago. She has a preexisting condition that is not covered (incontinence) but she is otherwise healthy. In August 2014 and April 2015 we had to have 2 dental surgeries. Our deductible is $500 but the surgeries themselves were about 2k each. No hassles at all. The Vet's office filed the claim for us and we got a check from Nationwide in about 2 weeks. Although her annual premiums will rise with her age, we will definetly renew every year. We just can't have her suffering from a broken tooth or an abcess. The alterative would be to pay out of pocket, on our credit card.

Peace of Mind

My 8 year old Bernese Mountain dog was recently diagnosed with Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia. This was not a pre-existing condition. He became ill very quickly, but I was able to get the assistance of my veterinarian who quickly referred to our local animal hospital. He was admitted initially for 4 days and then subsequently had another overnight visit. The veterinarians at both facilities that have been caring for him have had ready access to Trupanion and as per the perameters of the insurance, I have been able to get the best care available for my companion. We are only three weeks into treatment and my buddy continues to improve although we may have a long journey ahead of us. Nonetheless, knowing that I can support my guy with the appropriate medical treatment certainly reduces some of the stress (both emotionally and financially). Trupanion has processed my claims in a very timely manner and maintains contact via email and post. Claims have been submitted directly by the veterinarians that have been involved in Jackson's care. I am not exactly sure the total expenses incurred so far, but I suspect that we are reaching the $10K mark. This has included various diagnostic services (CT Scan, EEG, ultra sound, ongoing blood work) and two transfusions to date. Trupanion has lived up to its' end of the bargain. I would recommend Trupanion.
