Pets Best insurance is a dog's best friend

We have two wheaten terriers, a breed that is prone to skin problems. The older of our two developed several lipomas - fatty tissue lumps that if left untreated can develop into serious health issues. Removing them required sedation and surgery (expensive!) With Pets Best insurance, we knew that we could rely on help with major expenses like this to keep our dogs in the best health possible. With the upgrades they have made to claims processing (now totally paperless) service is quick, easy, and affordable. Thank you, Pets Best!

Great Company with a Personal Touch

I whole heartedly recommend Healthy Paws. Our 14 month old puppy had been in ICU for a full 7 days, having undergone major surgery - Healthy Paws covered 80% of an extremely expensive hospital bill. Receiving our reimbursement helped relieve much anxiety, allowing us to concentrate our attention on caring for our little guy when he finally came home. Also, I was touched that someone personally called, and when they did not reach me, emailed me to inquire on how our puppy was feeling and recuperating Don't know of any company that takes the time to do that. Healthy Paws App for submitting a bill could not be more simple to use - just take a picture of the bill with your phone and submit. It should be noted (although after all we've been through, this is a minor consideration to me now, but might matter to someone else) the only reason I did not give a full 5 stars is that they do not cover the expense of prescription food, which can be quite expensive. I can't say for sure, but this may be something that no pet insurance company will reimburse. I did price compare other pet insurance companies and Healthy Paws not only received the best reviews, but they are also VERY affordable.

Quick response to our claim.

I had the veterinarian fax form and Bill information and a couple days later you said it was received and I would receive a check in about 10 days or so. How easy is that! Thank you embrace.Spinner and BayLeigh thank you.

For the most part good insurance

This will be my 3rd year with this insurance. The first couple of years I've been very pleased with the insurance. I started my policy before the new plans became available which seem nicer than my current plan. The new plans will pay 90% whatever the vet charges which is nice, rather my plan evaluates all my charges and adjusts what they'll cover based on the national average (take note the new plans do NOT do this anymore). I can't switch polices because my pet's conditions will not be covered even though I've been insured with ASPCA the whole time because switching polices these conditions will be considered preexisting. In addition, ASPCA is incapable of providing my base premium cost so I can't do my own math with my veterinary professional discounts. With all that said, the customer service have been very polite and helpful with all questions and follow up. I've only spoke to one representative that I disliked. The insurance provides peace of mind, covered my pet's dermatology issues even through continuing care which is nice. Note you will see an increase in premium policy rates at 3 years and then 5 years. I plan to keep the insurance for the duration of my pets lives but I don't think I'll return to ASPCA with future pets.

Total Rip Off!

Beware! Worst insurance! I faxed my claims over and over and would get confirmation that they were received (the fax machine prints off a confirmation when the fax goes through) but Pets Best kept telling me they never got it. Then I had MSU Vet hospital mail hard copies to both myself and Pets Best - I received my copy but Pets Best claimed they didn't receive their copy. This continued to happen and they finally said they received it but told me it was too late to file the claim because to much time had passed!! It was a complete joke.

Healthy Paws is the #1 choice-outstanding service!

I absolutely recommend Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. My coonhound is my 5th dog. 1st dog lived a long life, my 2nd and 3rd pups had many health challenges starting from a young age and at the time I didn't know about Pet Insurance. A lot of money was put out for their care over the years - never regretting one penny spent on my pet family - but at times it can make the pocket book a little thin (well, a lot thin). I just had to say goodbye to my 4th dog, who lived a long and full life. After two dogs with a lot of health issues, it was so nice to have one that didn't. Along comes our Coonhound, Dixie. About 5 months old, she got a cherry eye. $1500 later (UGG) we thought...here we go again with spending $$$. Many friends asked why we didn't have pet insurance. We had never thought of it - and so glad now we have it. I did A LOT of research, reading a lot of reviews of people just like myself. I decided Healthy Paws was the best choice because of the positive feedback of satisfied customers, the fact that the claims were paid fast, and it was hassle free. SO HAPPY I CHOSE HEALTHY PAWS. Since Dixie's first cherry eye...her other eye got a cherry eye, she's had a UTI, started having chronic eye allergies and an ear infection that just won't go away. Needless to say we have a high maintenance pup - and HEALTHY PAWS HAS COVERED IT ALL. I LOVE that I can snap a photo of my invoice and upload it on their app to add a new claim. SO EASY! Well worth the minimal monthly investment in my pup - so when major things come up, as mentioned above, it's not a stretch on my pocket book anymore. Healthy Paws has made having a fur family member much more enjoyable and stress free, financially speaking. And, I was pretty impressed I received an email a few weeks after Dixie's surgery just to see how she has been feeling and recovering. So impressed with their outstanding customer service. Such a nice personal touch. Thank you Healthy Paws!

Our Boy Ranger Had Three Growths ...

Our boy Ranger had three growths that needed to be removed, two were earlier diagnosed as lipoma, but one was huge and the other one in the leg muscle, so the vet suggested to take them out. We had blood work done before deciding on the surgery, since he is almost 11 yrs old. Sadly, one of the lipomas tested as a nerve sheath tumor :(. But anyway, I send the invoices from the blood draw and the surgery in and we got the surgery claim processed and paid out. I send an email that the blood work was just done at another time but for the surgery and got a phone call, that this will be taken care off for me. A few days later we received the payment for that as well. Thank you for excellent customer service!
