Hands Down…the best pet insurance company
This is the best company I have ever had for my pet insurance. Unlike other companies I have dealt with, this company pays out your claims promptly and without endless excuses to reduce the amount of the payments. When you sign up for a 10 percent deductible, you get back a full 90% of your vet fees. Other companies I have dealt with manage to come up with various exclusions bringing down their claim payments to only around 50% on a 90% plan. In fact, I recently had vet bills of over $30,000 dollars for my two sick dogs, one receiving cancer treatments and the other needing major knee surgery. Healthy Paws paid me the full 90% of some very expensive claims. They even sent an email asking how my dog was doing after the knee surgery. You can’t buy better pet insurance than this. I’ll stick with Healthy Paws for all my future pet insurance needs. You should give them a try.

I am very pleased with Figo’s …
I am very pleased with Figo’s quick claim process. It helped that I had my medical record on file before I submitted my claim. After filing, I was quickly (within 3-4 hours) approved and received my direct deposit in a couple of days. Thanks, Figo!

I gave one star as it doesn’t allow…
I gave one star as it doesn’t allow “0”. I did my share of checking and Embrace initially appeared to be a decent above board company that offered multiple options on policies. What a friggin joke! I purchased a policy for my dog in July 2020. I was well aware of waiting periods for sickness and orthopedic care, or having an exam to essentially “clear” them for coverage. In August 2021, THIRTEEN months after purchasing my dog suffered a broken leg. Now I’m being told she isn’t covered because I didn’t have a screening exam, with one agent telling me “maybe”, as if it could be, a pre-existing condition. WT actual F? A severe spiral fracture pre-existing? As if I’d wait more than a year for treatment. After much back and forth and a truckload of condescending BS the Embrace rep I spoke to, with apparent support from management, are denying benefits because she wasn’t pre-screened over a year ago for orthopedics for an accidental broken leg now. I understand the 6 month waiting period for ortho care when you sign up. I was informed that the waiting period is extended if no exam occurs. So I’ve been paying on a policy now for 16 months and it still wouldn’t be provide ben fits, with ortho waiting period beginning again because she’s had a broken leg. How’s that for circular logic? The recent rep told me that I was sent emails explaining these conditions. Really? An email? Not one that identified my specific issues but the general ones describing their policy. I have never seen them but that’s not a surprise. I don’t scan my “spam” folder for messages. I also had a few other things to focus on. Deployments tend to keep you occupied. They “graciously” (heavy sarcasm here” offered to refund my payments to this point and allow me to start over. As if there were any way in HELL I would use, recommend or even consider their company at this point. This is the second dog in less than a year they have denied benefits. The other one died. I won’t even bother describing why they denied the claim. Let’s just say it as equally ludicrous. I went with Embrace initially as among other things it was sponsored by USAA. I will most definitely let them know the company has NO issue screwing over veterans. Save yourself time, money, stress and your pets welfare. Find a company that actually honors their policy. In addition to this review I plan to do the same on Google, FB, the Better Business Bureau, NCPB and any other site I can find to forewarn others. I’m not into anonymity when reviewing.
