Stress Free Pet Owner
When deciding to enroll in pet insurance, I was once told that I have insurance for my home, my car, myself, so why wouldn't I have it for my pet? My 90 Ib lab had a TTA ACL surgery a month ago. Healthy paws was able to answer all questions prior to the surgery so that I could solely focus on my recovering dog. When the claim took a bit longer, they followed up and communicated of such information. Healthy Paws has continued to ask about the recovery of my dog, and this truly shows how much they care about their clients. 10/10 would recommend insuring your pet through Healthy Paws. A fantastic team to work with and they let you focus on what really matters in life... making sure your pet lives the best one they have.
As somebody who works in the insurance industry, I can't fathom how this company is still in business.
First of all, it is next to impossible to connect with a representative from Pet Secure - let alone get a straight answer. I have sent 3 emails over a month and have yet to hear back. I attempted to call in and use their chat feature, but no one on their end could provide any updates.
Their claim processing time is absolutely absurd. We were told 19 days to process a claim. It's now been over a month as we still haven't heard anything. Keep in mind this claim is non-complex in nature. It was simply reimbursement for a vet exam fee. Therefore there was no supporting medical documentation (scans, lab results, etc.). I cannot imagine what their TAT would be on a "complex" or "high dollar" claim.
I also find their "Member Portal" next to useless. It is clunky (not user-friendly), and only serves the purpose of viewing claims. In my case, my claim never appeared on said portal. Once again, nobody could give me a straight answer as to why.
We had this service extended to us through our veterinarian when our puppy was new. Needless to say, we will be taking our business elsewhere to cover our pet. I have no faith in this company's ability to actually pay out any relevant amount should we ever need it in the future. Highly disappointing.
We have had Trupanion insurance for our goldendoodle since 2015. We are very pleased with their services and recommend them to everyone we know. Claim submission is hassle free and their employees are always helpful and caring.
I had to take my cat to the ER due to FIC, it turned out. Three days later, he still was not peeing. I took him immediately to his regular vet. We picked him up three days later, the day before Thanksgiving.
I submitted both invoices, along with medical hx from his vet, to Healthy Paws. They kept me apprised of the progress of both claims. They even emailed me to see how Czar was doing. I got my two reimbursement checks in yesterday’s mail 12/6/21.
Healthy Paws is absolutely amazing. Unfortunately my 4 month old puppy fell ill with stomach issues and needed various exams done and medication. We submitted our claims and within a few days we had our checks in the mail. Everyone you speak to is friendly and very helpful. I have nothing bad to say about this company. Definitely recommend!
I took my cat for her annual exam and her usual vaccines. I opened my Lemonade app to file the claim thinking I should do it right then because I would need to print the form, attach the receipt, mail it in and wait weeks to get paid. I mean, afterall, I'm still waiting on a medical insurance payment 3 months later and still waiting. I was shocked when I clicked file claim and an agent instantly appeared, took me through a few questions, had me take a picture of my reciept, approve the claim, verify my bank info and pay me!!!!!! I don't know for sure but I don't think it took more than 5 minutes. The longest part was waiting for my bank to make the funds available. I ended up only paying $20 for my cat's annual exam. On top of all that, Lemonade and it's agents are pretty funny and a thrill to work with.
Reduced coverage due to amount of claims in one year
I have had PetSecure for several years and we have 2 dogs. It was pretty good at reimbursing the 80% , just very slow to re-imburse and many times I had to have the vet submit the request several times because PetSecure kept saying they did not receive it. Now my chihuahua had to have double hip replacement this past year and PetSecure want to keep my monthly fee the same but drop the coverage to 60% even though our contract is for 80%. I find this very upsetting and will be looking for a different insurance company.
We are Embrace customers since 2016 and never needed to file a claim. The last day of October our Emma injured herself and we took her to the vet. She is now recovering and she is doing much better. We file the claim and got the reimbursement right away. I was very impress but the kindness of Carly who asked me first thing first how Emma was doing even before she asked me to send the invoices. We have four pets insured by Embrace.
