The worst

This is singlehandedly the worst insurance I've ever had the displeasure of being subscribed to. Didn't get a single cent back from the "completed" claims. I had to pay $2k+ for my kitten's Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) within the last MONTH and had Embrace weeks before the visits AND the diagnosis. The tests, bloodwork, visits, compound medicine, they all added up to $2,000. I paid $125~ for Embrace membership (2 months) and they could only refund a measly $9. I cannot stress this enough... I'd rather pay $2,000 out of pocket five times every month than to have to pay $50 a month to Embrace ever again. Also their customer service is bad. I kid you not, within the same day, I waited for 20 mins for the first call, and 30 mins ON THE DOT for the other call. I was this close to hanging up. And they have the audacity to have a voice line in the hold-call that says they're rated top customer service by some company. That's real funny. Save your money, mental health, time, and your pet's time. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR EMBRACE PET INSURANCE. Actual thieves.

Use to think they were the best pet…

Use to think they were the best pet insurance company and was a satisfied member for 9 years even though the rates continued to climb to almost $200.00 per month. My dog has had numerous medical conditions throughout the nine years and they alway made a quick settlement of payment. For nine years I protected My dog with a 250.00 deductible at a return payment of 90%. Upon renewal of my policy I was informed that they would no longer be covering my at the current rate changing it to a 500.00 deductible per year and a payout of 75%. They told me it was because the State of Florida would not permit the continue my current 250.00 @ 90%. Oddly they still offer that policy coverage in the State of. Florida. Beware that they can change the coverage to meet their needs . They were once the best but now I would advise everyone to stay clear of this company. The changed my policy knowing that I couldn’t switch to another company due to my dogs now pre existing conditions.

It was a pleasure speaking with Josh…

It was a pleasure speaking with Josh today. He explained the policy thoroughly, offered a multi pet discount which was a great incentive. He was knowledgeable and very efficient. I asked him to call me back at a certain time and he did which was very impressive. Josh was also understanding and offered good advice.

Trupanion is a poor choice…

I have had a policy with Trupanion for 11 years sometimes covering 2 dogs sometimes one. We have never submitted a claim. We moved from SC to Northern CO and got another puppy. While inquiring about coverage for our puppy I was told that the cost for our two year old Golden tripled because of where we moved to. Keep in mind that we carry a $1000 deductible. Needless to say we shopped and found that Lemonade would insure both the puppy and the two year old dog for $25 less than Trupanion asked for the 2 year old alone.

Anything to short pay claims

I have 2 dogs. The policy price increased drastically from last year, now they are only paying for half of the anestesia charges "because the teeth were cleaned at the same time". The anestesia was to remove possibly cancerous growth. The vet decided to do a dental at the same time. Now the insurance is denying payment of the full claim. This is totally unethical behavior and I will be dropping them soon.

Horrible coverage

we have insured our dog since he was a puppy 12 years ago. We had one very small claim over the years. Recently he was showing signs of leg weakness, had him evaluated and treated. Apparently the physical exam is not covered. How do you get a treatment plan without a physical exam? It is absolute insanity. All the money we have paid, and it’s the worst insurance ever. We will be heading to FETCH shame on your company

Read your policy carefully

- Will spam you with 10+ emails if you just want to get a quote. - For dental coverage, they require your dog to get "an annual dental exam and you follow your veterinarian’s recommended dental care". This can cost you another $1000+ per year. - Misleading practices. They technically don't raise plans due to age - they just put your pet in a cohort with other pets in the area who signed up at the same time. Fees go up as the cohort need more medical care ...which coincides with age. - Problematic partnership with VCA and other private equity owned companies. The payment is only instant if you use one of the partnered clinics, and sometimes not even then. - Does not cover routine or emergency examinations, preventatives, or "recovery and complementary care" - Will make every effort to deny claims as "pre existing", but most pet insurance companies do this. If your dog ate a sock ten years ago and just ate another one, it's "pre existing".
