This time around I unfortunatly was not pleased with my experience . I have had my dog to the vet on 4 occasions for ongoing allergies in the past year and have paid the deductible several times now as Trupanion states that every trip is considered a separate allergy because there were a couple months in between visits and because each visit presented a different symptom for example itchy ears. Itchy skin and diarrhea.

A great insurance option for your pets
I recently changed jobs and was able to get a discount for having an ASPCA insurance policy, so I changed to it from Trupanion. My wife and I have insurance on all of our pets (2 dogs and 2 cats), and we have tried all of the main providers including Trupanion, Nationwide, and ASPCA. Recently our youngest, Luna, was having severe pain in the stomach and we had to go to the emergency vet multiple times within the same week. On the second trip, they decided to perform a biopsy on her GI tract and she stayed in the hospital for 3 days. The total cost was right around $8k total, of which ASPCA covered our yearly max of $5k. We received this payment in less than a week after the surgery, which is a great turnaround time. We had no issues with the claim or any questions that we had, which was awesome. I highly recommend ASPCA for your pet insurance; the only one which would be a higher recommendation would be Trupanion with a vet who supports their pay now option (basically, they pay your insurance claim to the vet directly while you are still there with no delays). Luna is doing fine now, and while I hope that I will not need to use the insurance, I'm happy with the fact that it's a smooth process if I do need it.

Non-plussed by Coverage
$1000 vet bill, $400 deductible, and only $273 was covered. Whatâs the point of having insurance if it covers so little of the cost of an injury treatment?

As always, Trupanion was prompt in paying and fair. I have been pleased with the service for a number of years and wouldnât dream of changing to another insurance provider for my pets.

Best insurance experience for my pet!
Love the service and how much this insurance has come to help me major time on unexpected expenses and care for my dog. My mom actually put her dog on it recently after hearing about it from me.
