Pet insurance

For what you pay a month you don’t get much back. I understand the deductible but after you that still don’t pay much

Being able to choose premiums and deductibles is very nice.

Being able to choose premiums and deductibles is very nice. The veterinary portal is a big thing for me. I haven’t had to use it for my cat yet but happy knowing it’s there.

I like the concept but I think the $200 deductible is a bit much per incident.

I like the concept but I think the $200 deductible is a bit much per incident. I guess it evens out if the deductible pertains to related injury...I guess I am used to dealing with deductibles per year that's all - just a different concept.

Forever grateful, Trupanion!!!!

I started with 3 dogs that 2 I insured with Healthy Paws because the premiums started to be lower but one of my dogs is a labrador/german shepherd mix and they don't cover hip dysplasia. I was able to get it thru Trupanion. Our lab/gs mix had a lot of health issues that required several surgeries. I understood that the premiums increase as years went by but never had any problems with any of our claims, and we had many many claims, none was denied. All of our 3 dogs are same age, 15 years now. Last year, Healthy Paws decided to increase our premiums for both dogs at over 100% (yes, more than doubled with less claims than Trupanion). They lied about sending me an email months before, and I never delete my emails, I never received notification of premium increase. Trupanion's premium stayed the same for this year which I am so glad because our beloved Max was able to continue to be seen by his vet until it was time for him to have eternal rest. I had to cancel my other 2 dogs' insurance with Healthy Paws last Oct 31, 2021 and not even at the end of the policy, they cut my access to their online accounts! I am so mad because I had to find a replacement insurance (ASPCA) and have to deal with pre-existing conditions. Our 2 dogs are old now, of course a lot of pre existing. My policy with Trupanion ended on March 11, 2022, and I just checked while I am writing this, I can still access my account.

Seems good and both vets recommended it.

Seems good and both vets recommended it. But they did say that prevention was not covered and it should be. Much less expensive than intervention, and I agree.

So happy I have Trupanion!

I adopted Sophie. A 5 yr old toy yorkie 5 months ago. She was used for breeding. She is a wonderful little dog, but we had to use Trupanion insurance twice already. I purchased the trupanion not for everyday visits, but for the emergencies. My old dog, Ricky, who died several years ago suddenly had a bad heart, and the bills cost me $10,000. Can't afford that again! I go to a VCA animal hospital who has direct payment with trupanion, so I never need to fill out paperwork, which I love. I also don't have to wait, as I'm checking out, they submit the bill to Trupanion, and I only pay the difference. I love VCA as they are open 24-7, and they have all the specialists I could need. Trupanion had already saved me over $1,000. If you have a dog, you need insurance for those "Oh my God" moments! I would choose Trupanion again!

The ease of submitting a claim

I've been using Trupanion for the last 3 years. They have been extremely helpful! My Bernese Mountain dog is currently going through some Dental procedures which are very expensive. Because Trupanion is covering the root canal for his Front Canine, we are able to save that tooth! We all Thank Trupanion for helping us! I will never go without a pet insurance again, and I'm sure we will continue to use Trupanion!
