Mixed experiences with claim coverage
I am very satisfied with the amount Trupanion covered for my dog Layla’s vet visits (for diagnosis and removal of a mast cell tumor). In fact, I was pleasantly surprised since my last claim experience was not good. One of Layla’s ears is prone to inflammation, and although she had several vet visits (over a period of time) for this problem, Trupanion said the instances were separate and unrelated, so they paid nothing. I have had Trupanion insurance for my two dogs for over seven years, and I was very disappointed in their decision on that claim.

Trupanion's coverage is fair and predictable.
Trupanion's coverage is fair and predictable. I know exactly how much I will have to pay out of pocket for my dog's medical care - no costly surprises here. I had Trupanion for 10 years with my last dog. During her last year, she was treated for cancer. Not only was I able to give her the medical care that she needed, but Trupanions telephone representatives were available for guidance and support during this time. I have done breed rescue for 22 years and I recommend Trupanion to our adopters.

A good friend of mine works for Trupanion, and my parents also have been using Trupanion for my family dog who is about to turn 13 yo. When I got my golden retriever puppy, I knew this was the insurance to go with and have no regrets so far! Even though our vet doesn’t work directly with Trupanion, the phone app allows me to quickly and easily submit claims. They’re all processed in a timely manner with email/text status updates along the way. Thank you, Trupanion, for all that you and your staff do to make it easy for pet owners to do the right thing - keep our pets healthy and happy!

After comparing, ONLY TRUPANION!
I have recommended Trupanion to numerous pet loving friends! For years we didn't need to use to use the insurance but when we suddenly learned our Libby had developed chronic kidney disease, wow, it became very expensive! Trupanion covered 90% of 3 nights in the hospital with IV, X-Rays, shots, and numerous meds that she will be on for the rest of her life. All covered at 90%! So glad I added an optional rider to the insurance when we signed up because acupuncture was also covered. A little later an additional flare up of kidney disease with another night in the hospital was covered. Any and all future kidney problems will be covered at 90%. Compare to other insurance companies that put a Cap on each problem. After spending X amount, most other companies would stop paying for anything kidney related, EVER. Some companies will continue paying, but when a new year starts you have another co pay. With Trupanion, we only have 1 co pay EVER for a kidney problem.
