I would like to leave my review about this pet health insurance. Maya has been insured with this company since she was a puppy, back in 2016, when she was just a few months old. We got the insurance as a precaution. When she was 10 months old, she fractured a bone in her leg. She had surgery, and the insurance reimbursed us 80%. She remained on this insurance for several years. When I found out that my husband had canceled her policy, I immediately reactivated it on October 15, 2021. Maya was going to turn 6 in December. Unfortunately, on February 10, 2022, Maya needed another surgery to remove the pin from her leg. As she grew, the pin had shifted into her knee, and she was having difficulty walking. She underwent the second surgery, and I filed a claim — but they did not reimburse me, stating it was a pre-existing condition. I was very upset, because they were already aware of her full medical history, including the first surgery. However, since the policy had been canceled and then reactivated, I believe they may have assumed we were trying to take advantage of the situation, which was not the case at all. I eventually let it go, although I remained very disappointed, and we paid for everything out of pocket. She has remained insured to this day. Recently, she had to undergo yet another surgery on the same leg — her third surgery, in 2026. Maya is now 10 years old. This time, she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and had to have her leg amputated. The insurance reimbursed 80% of the costs. Overall, I would not give this insurance 5 stars. Because of the second surgery, which I believe should have been covered, I cannot rate it that highly. However, considering the customer service and the speed of reimbursement, I would give it 3 out of 5 stars. I also would not give 5 stars because I consider the monthly premium of $228.69 to be quite expensive.

Better plans were expected
My previous pet insurance did not have annual maximum coverage. Having dogs for many years, I know 5K for illness or injury will not be enough to provide the best possible healthcare. More options for additional coverage would have been appreciated. Additionally, while Nationwide is not the most expensive, there are better plans. I hope this can be negotiated with my employer next year.

It is a great experience now a days to speak to a live agent and not AI.They are affordable and have a lot of selections for the coverage that fits you the best. Crazy I have to pay you to pay for the insurance i pay you for.
Providing an employee group rate discount and then charging installment fees monthly which basically eats up the discount. Why do you charge installment fees. No company does this. There is no other way to pay these fees except on a recurring charge. You don't provide another option except an annual option which itself has a $53 Enrollment fee. Crazy I have to pay you to pay for the insurance i pay you for.

I am extremely disappointed with this…
I am extremely disappointed with this pet insurance company. I paid monthly premiums expecting meaningful reimbursement for my cats’ veterinary care, but the amounts I received were nowhere near what I was led to expect. In my experience, the reimbursements did not even cover half of the bills, which made the policy feel like a poor value overall. For what I was paying each month, I expected much better support and far more reasonable coverage. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company.

Healthy Paws Coming in Clutch!!
We've had Healthy Paws pet insurance since my dog was a pup. He is currently 7 years old, and we've only had to use the insurance a few times in 7 years. Mostly for a few x-rays and one ultra sound. But last weekend, that changed when we ended up at the animal hospital. He ended up being admitted and having to stay overnight for a procedure. We were worried about our boy, but thanks to Healthy paws, we didnt have to worry about how we were going to pay the vet bill. After everything was said and done, the total bill was over $5000. Since we have the 90% coverage plan and already met our $250 deductible, we were only responsible for the exam fees, two $8 medications and 10% of the remaining bill. The funds were deposited in our checking account within 2 days. Remember, you dont buy insurance knowing you're going to use it, you buy it for the time or times you will need it. Thanks Healthy Paws. We are adding another rescue to our family and will be purchasing additional coverage for her.

Great coverage
Great coverage! Fetch is a blessing. I hoped I would never have to use the insurance because you know your pet family member is in distress. The coverage was great. They were detailed and broke down the coverage on all the procedures performed. I still hope I will never have to use them again, but if I do, I know I am covered!
