Insurance was misleading
Insurance was misleading, did know I'd have to pay double that wasn't mentioned until the end of enrollment, when it was time to pay also recommended representative O spoke to prior told that because I have an older dog that somethings won't be reimbursed, now I feel I shouldn't have even paid for it.

I chatted with Fabrice Le-Morzellec to get my new shelter pup, Ellie, signed up with Fetch! He was very helpful and spent the time to go over different coverage options with me. We ended up creating the perfect plan for me and my dog! Definitely recommend. :)

40% year over year premium increase
This company has continued to raise the premiums year over year with the latest increase of 40%. This 40% increase comes even with increasing the co-insurance and deductible on the policy (i.e., increasing the amount I need to pay for each claim). Loyalty does not seem to matter, as I have been a customer since 2018. I understand they *believe* they care about their customers, but with an annual revenue of at least $36.4 million dollars, it's clear they mostly care about making a profit from their customers' attachment to their pets. I would recommend going elsewhere and asking lots of questions before signing up with any pet insurance provider, as this was sold to me in 2018 as a service that would cover more and have very minimal premium increases as compared to their competitors. I am currently reviewing the Nerd Wallet comparisons to determine if there is a better match for my budget, my pets age, and the veterinary notes that could be considered "pre-existing conidiations" for other policies.

147% insurance premium increase!!!!
My insurance premium jumped from $197 to $477 without any notice. Healthy Paws claims they emailed me, but I never received anything—and of course, I can’t prove a negative. They charged me the higher premium for four months before I caught it, and when I called, they stated they wouldn’t issue a refund because “my dog was covered.” In all the years I’ve had this policy, I filed one claim. Out of an $800 vet bill, they paid $140. Honestly, don’t waste your money. You’re better off putting those premium payments into an interest-bearing account for emergencies. For me, dropping this policy means saving over $6,000 a year.

Competitive Rates, But a Frustrating Claims Process
I chose MetLife because of the competitive rates they offered after my previous pet insurer drastically increased premiums. Unfortunately, the transition has been frustrating. Several vet visits and conditions were classified as “pre-existing” simply because they were covered under my prior policy. On top of that, every claim has been delayed, repeatedly requesting additional documentation—specifically the veterinarian’s SOAP notes. These notes have been submitted multiple times for each claim, yet the process stalls. Either the notes are difficult for MetLife to interpret, or there’s a systemic issue. If your claim isn’t extremely detailed and prescriptive, expect it to be denied.

Great coverage and quick payments
Great coverage and quick payments - this is exactly what we were hoping for when we made the decision to get pet insurance. The app is very easy to file claims and they update you through every step of the process. Very impressed and very relied to have such great coverage for our pup.

Embrace DOUBLES Premium every year after your dog turns 10
My premium if I was stupid enough to renew would have been over $4800 for 14yo medium (48lb) mixed breed female dog for only $8k of coverage, $1000 deductible, 80% coverage.
