Really great pet insurance
When I found out my dog had to get an emergency tooth extraction and that they may have to take out many more teeth, I was so stressed and after seeing the estimate…I was crying because I was unsure how I’d pay. But he is my dog, my heart and even if meant putting it on credit cards and maybe not get reimbursed by insurance, I scheduled it. I knew he was in pain and I couldn’t even imagine how it felt for him! The whole process was stressful and really emotionally draining. When I submitted all my documents to MetLife, I hoped for the best! Thankfully after a few days of waiting and calling, I received reimbursement and through Zelle! It came right into my bank account and I was able to pay off 80% of those bills after my deductible! Thank you so much MetLife! I am so happy I chose this insurance and that my dog is happy and healthy and healed very well! Such a smooth and easy process.

Great Insurance Company to do business with.
I've had pumpkin pet insurance for 3 years, for my German Shepherd, it has been a worthwhile investment since day one. Veterinarian bills seem equally expensive as Medical Doctors for humans. Pumpkin reimbursements are quick, hassle free and pay up to 90% of the bill. I highly recommend them to any pet owner.

Not All Fees and Costs Are Clearly Specified Up Front
The pre-existing condition explanation is ambiguous (are allergies covered, unclear; what is the effect of having a different insurer for one of the pets, unclear). The nickle and dime fees were not stated upfront or at least so that I noticed them (e.g., an enrollment fee, a fee for paying monthly as opposed to annually, etc.,). On the other hand, and of course we'll have to see what the actual experience is, this is the only pet insurer that provides a "family plan", and the difference in cost between insuring three animals as a "family plan" versus insuringing them individually is substantial. Now, we must see how things actually work out.

Great experience
Megan was great to work with. Knew her stuff, answered my questions and super nice. Also, their pricing is much better than other companies.

Unethical Company Raising Premiums
Price hikes each year to the point where it's not worth it. I havent used the insurance/filed a claim in 3 years and they continue to raise my premium each year. Go with any other pet insurance. They are unethical and predatory.

This year they are more than doubling…
This year they are more than doubling my insurance premiums!! For no apparent reasons but "the vet bills increase in the US these days" and “your cat is getting 1 year older” . I don’t think it’s a good reason to double an insurance premium . AND they had already increased it the past year. What is it gonna be next year? triple? Also they don’t cover prescription food- Only prescription medication- Beware!

What is advertised is not what you get
It wasn’t clear when I started paying into the insurance plan that they do not cover emergency exams, or taxes. So instead of paying the $600+ that I expected, they only paid out $270. Their policy makes no sense and does not cover the things that are needed. I am truly disappointed.

Most things that I needed were not…
Most things that I needed were not covered. So by the time I paid the premium and the cost of the service I basically broke even which saved me $0 hence rendering the insurance useless.
