If only human insurance could be so easy!
This company is wonderful. You take a photo of your vet bill, send it using the healthy paws phone app, and they reimburse you a few days later. They cover what they say they will cover, no questions asked. It allows you to take your pet to the hospital when they need it without having to worry how on earth you'll be able to pay the bills afterwards. Just two weeks ago our extra small mini dachshund, who'd been kind of lethargic for a few days and not eating or drinking, started throwing up copious amounts of blood. A quick/frantic google search hinted to me that it might be Hemorrhagic Gastroententiritis, and not wanting to take any risks, I bundled her up into the car with the kids and brought her straight to the hospital. I'd read that in small breeds in particular this kind of illness could have serious repercussions if not dealt with right away. The doctor confirmed it was GH and said we'd been smart to go directly to the hospital. They put her on an IV and medication and kept her overnight. Late the next day we brought her back home and a few days later, she was back to normal. Healthy Paws covered it all and even sent me a personal email asking me how she was doing. (The idea that Blue Cross Blue Shield would want to find out how I was doing after processing one of my medical claims is comical....in a sad, sad sort of way.) Anyway: get this insurance. They're affordable and they honor the terms of your contract. And they're super nice.

Highly Recommend!
I can't recommend ASPCA insurance enough. I have two cats that have a tendency to team up and get into trouble every once in a while. The two times I've had to file a claim for emergency visits, I was recouped between 80 - 90% of the costs after a quick and easy review process. Give them a try.

Happy Dog Mom
I have had my pet health insurance for about 2 1/2 years, and I love it. The policy clearly outlines what is covered and what is not, and filing a claim is super easy. I used to fax my claims in, now I do it right from my iPhone through an app. Reimbursements are generally issued in about 2 weeks...but sometimes it's faster. And, with the option of direct deposit, I don't have to wait extra time for a paper check to come in the mail. Once payments are released, they are usually credited to my account within 24-48 hours. Pet health insurance may sound silly to some, but if you have it, you will be forever grateful. It allows me to focus on my pet's health when he's under the weather, and not worried about my pocketbook quite so much.

First time getting pet insurancere and so far so good!
Honestly, the thought of paying monthly for pet insurance seemed.....dumb! I mean everyone said so. But I can't express how great full I am I don't listen to other people, and that I have Nation Wide! I would be about 3k in debt right now if I didn't have them. My fur child, due to no fault of his own has had to go to the vet for illnesses. Nationwide makes filing a claim easy and fast and I've been paid back every cent they promised to cover under our policy! The staff is super friendly and easy to talk to. Anyone with a pet who doesn't have some kind of coverage I would say is just plain.....well dumb! Thank you nation Wide!

Real Review - Claim was fully covered!
I previously had a puppy that died from lepto. Our Vet costs were $7000, and when we got a new puppy, we decided pet insurance was a must. I decided to go with Figo because they were one of the few companies to cover ‘exam fees’. You’ll find that most policies do not, or that they’re more expensive. We chose the ultimate plan with a $200 deductible, and 90% payout. It cost about $650 a year. It’s important to note there is a 14 day waiting period for illnesses and 5 days for injury. In our case, our puppy had a reaction to some of the vaccines he was given. Our claim occurred on the day after the waiting period ended. It was perfect and poor timing. I was worried I would to have to go back and fourth with the insurance company during the claims process, but instead the claim was approved and paid in a week. Claim was made on 9/4. Approved on 9/7 and Payment was received on 9/11. Our bill was $540, $133 of which was exam fees. After the deductible, Figo covered the rest ($286). I’m extremely pleased with the prompt service. In addition, Figo has a 6 month waiting period for knee and hip problems, however it can be waived if your vet writes a note indicating your dog is healthy and has no issues. You need to email customer support within the first 30 days of the policy. I sent that in, and it was approved as well. Email response is prompt and knowledgeable. They sent me an email asking for a review, so here it is. They’ve done right by me. Recommend, and as always keep all documentation to avoid any problems.

Outstanding
Healthy paws is incredible, they cover so much, and are so quick to reimburse you. I have the 90% reimbursement plan, and after an unexpected emergency with my cat I realized they reimbursed me more than the actual amount I’d been paying in pet insurance over the last 3 years. So totally worth it!! Also, their app is incredibly easy to use, usually I file my claim while paying the bill in the vets office. The personalized follow up to check on your pet is really nice too!

very good dealing with you folks
I am so glad I bought pet insurance and I tell all my friends when they get a pet to make sure and get the pet insurance. I had one friend who thought $40 was too much. She wound up paying $2000 and then had the dog put down as the ple disease was too expensive to treat. That is the same disease Ollie has and we have been able to treat it some years now thanks to the pet insurance. Ollie is alive and well, has to get regular checkups where they adjust his meds, but this month he turns 8! So there! Buy pet insurance.

Most worthwhile purchase
Our 1 year old kitty got very sick over night. One minute she was bouncing around and within a few hours she was lethargic and dull eyed. We knew something was very wrong so we took her to our vet. It was a Saturday and they did not have overnight care, so they recommended the emergency vets just down the street. We took her there and they immediately started testing. We also had to pay almost $2000.00 up front. We thought we were going to lose our darling little fur girl. She was very sick and they still were not sure what was wrong. Knowing we had the pet insurance gave us the ability to have them keep testing. Our little girl had pancreatitis. Her total bill which included 24 hour care, many tests, I V meds, special diet, cost over $5000.00. Our sweet kitty got well and so did our budget. Our pet insurance reimbursed us 90% of our expenses, within a week of entering the claim.
