Reliable and timely
Healthy Paws is great. Last few years in particular have been exceptional - lots of health issues but timely review and reimbursement of claims and minimal follow-up for documentation. The rates have even become more competitive after several years of hikes. Can't imagine life without it - we have for both our dogs.

I had Trupanion for my first cat
I had Trupanion for my first cat. It did its job, and was a lifesaver for when we had 10k of treatments for cancer. However, second cat's cancer treatment came when I was financially less stable and had to change over to Spot. I had my reservations considering the price that seemed too good to be true and the fear from straying from the more well-known companies. Turns out, they are just as good, just as helpful (if not more to make up for any difficulties that come from issuing claims). Death and sickness are always terrible things, and one comes to cherish the gentleness of convenience - if only to have more memories of my pets rather than the bureaucracy of surviving them.

Unfair pricing
I liked the agent. She was sympathetic and helped me select a reduction in coverage to reduce the monthly rate which skyrocketed by $50.00 a month I had this insurance for almost ten years and it has increased almost yearly. This year, on my dog reaching 10 years of age it escalated from 89.00 a month to 160.00 a month. I had to cut the coverage in half to go down to 109.00 a month. I HAVE NEVER FILED A CLAIM! My dog is very healthy and is on no medication. She visits the vet every year and is fine. This is outrageous, but at this point I’m over a barrel to pay their fees because my dog is 10 and I’m afraid if she needs surgery or some treatment thst I won’t have the money to pay for it. I’m 79 and on a very limited income.

A Confident Start with Fetch
I had such a great experience with Aileen today. She spent nearly 40 minutes walking me through every detail and patiently answering all of my questions as I evaluated whether switching pet insurance made sense for us. She was incredibly thorough, clear, and thoughtful in how she explained coverage, pricing, and what to expect. I never felt rushed, and she made sure I truly understood everything before we wrapped up. It made the decision feel easy and confident. 13/10 would recommend!!!
I normally don't leave reviews, but I very much felt the need to do so. I switched my pets from Banfield to Spot after MONTHS of research. I mean literally 6 months of research of who had the best coverage, who had the best price, etc. I decided to go with Spot because they offered the most coverage for such a great price. The reason I wanted to write a review was because I recently lost one of my dogs and as I was waiting for Spot to approve everything, I get an email from them saying how sorry they were about the loss of my baby boy Roscoe. I also noticed that they said because of the time-frame of which he had passed (it lapsed into a new month), they weren't going to charge me for that new month and they were going to cancel it for me but if I had any other paperwork to submit that I could do so. It was truly so effortless and a weight off my shoulders not having to deal with all that with the sudden loss of Roscoe. My experience with Banfield was quite the opposite when I lost my dog Benji, it was like fighting tooth and nail with them. Spot made it so easy, I was able to grieve over the loss of my baby without having to deal with the phone calls, the holds and lets be honest, the bs that comes with trying to cancel insurances. They even called me a week later to check in to see how me and Roscoe's littermate Hodor were doing. I really cannot recommend Spot enough!

Best Experience Upon the Death of Our Cat
I bought pet insurance months ago not knowing what to expect. Our cat unexpectedly passed away due to an undiagnosed condition. Prior to this we had no claims submitted. I wasn't expecting much from the insurance but the submission was very easy for his end of life expenses. And their response to our cat's death was so very kind. They called me, sent a message via email, and we received a wonderful card. They proactivley cancelled the insurance which saved us time and future unnecessary charges. We love cats and will be adopting one again soon, and Spot Pet Insurance will definitely be a part of our life. Thank you to all at Spot for your kindness and sympathy during this time.
