waste of time and money

waste of time, waste of money on the insurance that they deny ,then you try to dispute it again weeks of stress and so far 2 claims still paid at ZERO, but yet paid insurance for it! START saving your cash for emergencies and no need of any pet insurances!

I called after I had made a claim for my dog Diamond

I called after I had made a claim for my dog and Pets Best forwarded a payment to my account not even 1/3 of the amount I spent at the office visit.I took out extended coverage of pet insurance when I first signed up for reimbursement of 85% of what ur bill is .Check this out 2024 received what I was to receive.. 2025 the excuse was I didn’t take her when new coverage was infect so I didn’t receive the amount I got in 2024.2025 just submitted claim this time we only pay a certain amount wellness visit..I am furious and give them a one star.. I plan on calling back Monday to get a supervisor or corporate because I don’t know who is playing games .What the since it makes to have reimbursement insurance with not only paying increase fees every year our pet ages.???I was givihg Pets Best great review to my family to purchase their insurance .Hell no

Procedure not covered

My dog needed medically, necessary repeated procedure. She needs her anal glands to be expressed once a month due to a unique problem that she has . I was told by Pets Best that if my Vet sent a letter saying this was a medically necessary procedure that it would be covered. I submitted that letter from my Vet.However, it was not covered, and it won’t be in the future is what I was told.

Save your money, don’t sign up for this.

I regret signing up with this company. They always find reasons to not cover any part of “illness” claims, not even diagnostic testing, even when an accident was present, they will justify not paying a claim by saying no coverage for “illness”. If you select this company be prepared to pay hundreds per year for claims to be denied, poor customer service, and more time than it’s worth trying to fight to get payments for claims only for no favorable outcome and empty promises. The marketing by this company was also misleading (only pre existing conditions are covered under a certain pet age, which is not made apparent while signing up!). I do not recommend whatsoever.

I have been a policyholder for 9 years…

I have been a policyholder for 9 years and for the most part, I have been extremely happy with customer service and timely reimbursement for my expenses. My complaint is that there is a long wait time to reach a human to answer my call and the website has had many glitches that cause frustration. They do increase the price annually which is to be expected but I feel that those of us who home cook and go above and beyond exceptional care should get a little break on these increases! I am still giving them 5 stars but truly hope they fix the above mentioned issues asap.

Very Helpful Advice

Customer Service rep Clementine was so clear. She helped me think through adjusting our policy rather than cancelling it. I feel very good about the coverage, looking at future health needs. Our two cats are now protected, and we feel good about the cost. I can't say enough good things about that interaction and Embrace.

BUYER BEWARE

I switched from Healthy Paws to Trupanion because my veterinarian highly recommended it. I was told they were the best, that they paid vets directly, and that they offered better overall coverage. Unfortunately, that couldn't have been further from the truth!!! If you enroll your pet as a puppy before they've shown any symptoms of illness, you may have fewer issues. However, what they DON’T tell you is that they DO NOT cover cremation or burial-related expenses if your pet passes away due to an illness or disease. Those benefits are only covered if the death is the result of a qualifying accident or injury. Meaning, if they are hit by a car or suffer a TRAGIC accident. Then sure, they’ll cover it. (That’s the example the agent I spoke to gave me, which broke my heart!) If it’s due to a disease or sickness, well, good luck. Also, the coverage for the tragic-related end-of-life expenses requires an additional COST, which I wasn't made aware of. On top of that, they found what felt like endless reasons to deny my claims, even though my dog's condition was NOT pre-existing. Every time I submitted a claim, there seemed to be another excuse not to pay. “It falls under the same category”, “I see here your pet had a prior test done that might have been that”, and so on! To make matters worse, my annual premium increased by more than $1,600, which was the final straw and the reason I'm cancelling my policy. When I asked why, they stated it was because a lot of claims have been filed around my area for that specific breed. That’s an excessive increase for the “reason” provided! I truly wish I had stayed with Healthy Paws. While they may cost a little more, I always felt like I had real peace of mind. Their process was simple: pay your vet bill, submit your claim, and get reimbursed. I never felt like I had to fight for coverage or worry about hidden exclusions. I have an English Bulldog and have carried pet insurance since he was just 3 months old because I know how expensive veterinary care can be. Now that I'm cancelling, I'm honestly anxious because I know how important pet insurance is. We buy it for peace of mind, and unfortunately, Trupanion did not provide that for me. My advice: DO YOUR RESEARCH, read the policy carefully, and DO NOT rely solely on recommendations from your veterinarian. Make sure you understand exactly what's covered and what's not before you sign up.

waiting over 3 months!

I have been waiting over 3 months for reimbursement on a $1500 claim. But my payments to insurance are NEVER late and I’ve never filed a claim prior. So frustrating when other insurance companies can reimburse much faster or pay the vet directly.
