It took forever for me to get reimbursed. I’m taking months. A lot of back and forth calls between vet and the company.

so glad I have had your insurance for several years!
MY dog Missy was born with a growth on her belly . We have been watching it for several years and not seen changes. This year it seemed larger (and ugly). We took her to the vet for a shot and had them check the growth. They aspirated it and found results that indicated possible cancer. She had surgery the next day. The specimen was sent for a biopsy...no cancer! The insurance paid for the whole bill except for the deductible. I'm relieved to know I will have financial help when unexpected problems arise. The claim was handled within a couple of weeks.

So simple
I have never had pet insurance before, so I was a little unsure about how the process worked, but it was so simple! I was amazed that all I had to do was take a picture to submit my claim. After the claim processed, I logged into my customer account and saw what was covered and what wasn't, and the explanation on why was easy to understand. I love the direct deposit feature as well.

Service not as good as expected
We purchased Nationwide pet insurance about a year ago at the suggestion of our veterinarian who said that many of his clients have been pleased. We have had a very mediocre experience thus far. One of the claims took 3 times to actually receive the check. Payment processing time is much longer than it appears to be from the claim processing time. Furthermore, the annual premium went up by 150% for the second year despite saying that it isn't related to claims. I have a family member who has a different pet insurance and had a good experience following hip replacement surgery. Wish I had gone with that company instead. Definitely looking around to consider whether we will continue with Nationwide in the future.

Super fast process!!
Finley is now 6 months old and was just neutered. His procedure was Friday, I submitted the claim that night from my phone, and I was reimbursed by Wednesday! Super easy and super fast process!!
