It takes to long to receive money

My only complaint is that it takes way to long to receive money back. When visiting the vets you have to pay in full and at times i don’t have the $500 plus extra on hand. It would be nice if it was more like human insurance where we only have to pay what we really owe.

Easy to navigate web site, but slow in reimbursement

I love having pet insurance for my dog - being able to download a prefilled out form makes things very easy. The web site is easy to use and easy to get claim status. I only used the call-in service once, but was pleased with the result. Only one complaint - it takes too long to get reimbursement - I find it takes about a month and I'd like to see this improved.

Takes over a month to respond to a claim!!

It takes WAY TOO long for someone to look over the receipts and approve or reject a claim. The last claim I submitted had ALL the receipts and was a large dollar amount. I didn't receive an email until a month later that they thought I was missing something. I wasn't missing anything and resubmitted the SAME receipts and finally got an approval. I would NEVER recommend Nationwide to anyone. The only reason I use it is because we get it through work. Very disappointed on how long it takes to get anyone to respond to a claim. Every claim I have submitted has taken a month or longer to process.... It's incredibly ridiculous.

Good except for claim reimbursement

As I look back on my claim history with this company, from 2017 on back the claims were paid in a matter days. Now it is a matter of weeks or a month+. I do need my reimbursement at least in time to pay the credit card on which the vet bill was invoiced.

Simple, fast, and easy to understand claims process.

This was my first claim for my dog. Processing was easy, and payment made in a timely manner right to my bank account. Unlike another company's policy on my other dog, which pays based on a formulary for the particular procedure, Trupanion pays according to the actual veterinary fee.

Fast and easy to file claims

I have 1 bulldog pups, they play hard and at 5 months old, one fell down the stairs. She ended up breaking her knee. If we didn't have the insurance, it would have been close to $6000 out of pocket. We filed a claim, uploaded all the forms online, it was super quick and easy. We were reimbursed within 10 days. They offer automatic deposit into your account, so no waiting on checks in the mail. They called to follow up to ensure we received the money, ask how our baby was doing, and seemed to genuinely care. Thank you!
