Good insurance
This is good insurance to have but the payment limits can be frustrating. My dog had cancer a few years ago and needs a checkup with his oncologist a few times a year, which includes an ultrasound each time. The radiology limit is so low that his insurance pays for less than one ultrasound per year. Overall, it has been a big help and it really helped us to get partial reimbursement for his chemo. Our other dog recently died but he had the upgraded plan that paid 90% of everything after a $250 deductible. That plan was awesome! They even paid for his cremation. Claims are easy to submit through the Vitus Vet app, and payment is simple with direct deposit. I have looked at other pet insurance companies and Nationwide has been superior to everyone else. If we get any more pets in the future we will insure them with Nationwide.

Quicker than I thought
I've had my policy for almost a year and have submitted claims on an infrequent basis. Until last month none of them have qualified for reimbursement (luckily, I guess). I filed the claim, signed up for automatic reimbursement and was surprised at how quickly the deposit came through. Thank you.

Surprisingly easy!
Before I had pet insurance, I thought it would be a waste of money. I decided to try it out when we adopted our first puppy and we are soooo glad we did. I bought the insurance through an employer discount and it is such a great deal. Uploading claim information through their app is super simple and fast. Thanks, Nationwide!

Best pet insurance!!!
I took out pet insurance eight years ago as an elderly person knowing that this new puppy (Maysie) would become more than just a pet, and not knowing what finances would be like in retirement. I reasoned that we could afford a small monthly payment and all preventative care, but couldn’t bear the thought of “putting Maysie down” for a fixable illness/injury because we couldn’t pay for it. I researched all current policies at the time and decided that Healthy Paws offered the best plan for us. So we signed Maysie up. I am so thankful we did!!! Maysie did turn out to be a family member, a constant companion going with us everywhere - even sleeping on the bed with us at night. We couldn’t love her more. Unfortunately, she has not been lucky with her health. She has had three major operations, the last of which was to remove a skull tumor. Healthy Paws has been right there with us each time. Claims are easy to file and payments are usually within a week. The company always sends emails asking how Maysie is doing. They have given her many extra years by allowing us to seek treatment that we would not have been able to afford. We are deeply in debt to Healthy Paws and thank them profusely. I always recommend them to anyone I talk to who is considering pet insurance. Nancy Holland

In reference to my aging dog vet bills are beginning to mount up. I have comfort and support with Healthy Paws insurance knowing that I can take him for treatment with their help it's affordable. If it were not for the insurance I would have had to put my beautiful pet down. DONT EVER BE PUT INTO THE SITUATION THAT YOU HAVE TO PUT YOUR LOVED ONE DOWN BECAUSE OF YOUR FINANCIAL SITUATION. We may be able to get more time with him on maintenance meds and vet visits its hope and without insurance no hope would exist.

Paid in a timely manner
Our aging lab, Miller, had a large non-cancerous (thankfully) lump between his two front legs that was growing larger and becoming a burden for him. We felt confident having our veterinarian surgically remove the large lump for our dog's comfort and that Pets Best would support us in this decision. The claim was paid in a timely manner. We used the online process for our claim and it was easy for us to use. Thank you, he is doing very well and has his sutures out this Friday.
