Easy, Affordable, Worth it!

Nationwide pet insurance is affordable, simple to use, and makes it a lot easier for me and less stressful when I feel I should take my puppy to the vet. I'm not worried about cost because I know it covers a lot of the issues and we will continue to use! Thanks!

The best decision for our dog!!

We got pet insurance for our golden doodle shortly after we got him and it was the best decision we ever made. We have insurance for ourselves so why wouldn’t we get it for our fur baby? They get sick and hurt just like we do especially when you have an active doodle. We pay monthly but it pays for itself after 2 visits to the vet and then we start getting reimbursed for our visits. The claims are very easy to submit but it does take close to a month or so before you get the money reimbursed. It takes the financial worry away about taking your pet to the vet when they are sick. We are so happy with our pet insurance and will definitely get it for our future dogs!!!

Excellent service

My claim was put in by my veterinarian's office. Where them days I was notified but they were unable to do the direct deposit. That was my fault because I needed to update my information. Within the week they mailed out and I received a check for the amount of the refund. Excellent service. Fast delivery. thank you so much.

RATES HIGH, SETTLEMENT SLOW

Huge 50 % rate increase after 1 year on healthy puppy. settlement of claims very slow, the old VPI did a much better job until purchased by Nationwide.

Left hanging in the wind now that I have an elderly dog.

I've been a client for the last 6 years and very happy with my pet insurance until recently. My last claim on December 20th took about 2 months to be paid out on. I know it was partly my fault - I was notified that my claim was illegible, so when I resubmitted, it gets kicked back to the "wait 30 days until you even look at it" pile. Then it got kicked back again because I didn't put a diagnosis on it. So I'm back to waiting 30 more days until you even look at it! Then come to find out, because heart murmurs are common in the breed of my dog, you'll only pay out $275 per year on this condition. I've been paying monthly premiums for 6 years knowing that one day my pet will become elderly and need a little more help medically than a young pup. My claims previously have been pretty routine. Now that he needs a little more help - daily medication for his heart murmur, I definitely feel like I'm left hanging in the wind by my pet insurance. I know I probably can't switch pet insurance very cost effectively now that I have a 9 1/2 year old dog, but with my next dog, I will probably look into other companies.

Find another insurance company for your pet.

The reason I brought my small young dog to the ER was reduced to the word "tremor" on the Trupanion claim form. She had become unsteady and was unable to stand or walk. That is significantly more serious than tremor. Regarding Conditions Not Covered - The claim report states: We do not cover examination fees. Has any one of you ever had the dire need to visit an ER for a medical issue? What is the most critical action the attending medical staff must take? He or she must EXAMINE the patient. Had I been advised that Trupanion Insurance would not cover any examination fees, I might have suggested that the doctor theorize, speculate or make a good guess regarding my dog's medical condition - and save $142.00. Trupanion criteria for coverage is inequitable, irrational and unacceptable.

Very good insurance

I recently got the insurance for my puppy, I went in on a Saturday and had his first puppy visit, I was told how to submit a claim and I just took a picture of the receipt, but Tuesday I had the reimbursement back in my bank. It was fast and simple and I believe it is a very good insurance!
