Helpful but takes a while

I have had VPI and now Nationwide for the past 7 years and it has helped me tremendously. The process to submit a claim is very easy but the turn around time seems very long. If I had one recommendation it would be to implement a 5 day response time but other than that it has been good.

Always had positive results on claims.

Never any surprises. This is my 3rd pet coverage with Nationwide Pet Insurance. Now you don't have to wait for a reimbursement check to come in the mail. You can choose to have it deposited directly to your bank account.

Very easy claims process.

I filled out the claim form online and uploaded my receipts which was a very easy process. I was notified a few days later that the claim was approved with a very specific explanation of benefits. The funds were in my account a few days after I filed the claim.

I'm going to blame technology

I'm going to blame technology but if I have insurance which I pay a premium every month when I make a claim my expectation is to have is processed before I leave the vet office. This time that didn't happen and had to pay the full amount which I wasn't expecting to have to do. Yes I was told I'd receive a refund once processed but wow.

Deductible was really not helpful

I don't like the fact that the money from the claim was put towards my deductible instead of me receiving the money. I paid out of pocket so putting it towards the deductible was really not helpful.

Having Embrace pretty much saved our dog’s life and kept us from stressing about getting him treatment!

When our 7-year-old Boxer went from happy zoomies to lethargy and pale gums in a matter of hours, we rushed him to our nearest emergency vet. We didn’t know what to expect, and when we were told he had an internal bleed that would kill him in a matter of hours, we were devastated. Making it even worse, they suspected hemangiosarcoma. Still, there was a 33% chance it wasn’t cancer, and the only way to save his life and find out was a very pricey splenectomy. Thanks to our coverage from Embrace, we didn’t even have to think twice about giving the green light to the surgery. Our boy made it through with flying colors, but the hemangiosarcoma diagnosis was sadly confirmed. However, again, because of Embrace, we were able to get him the traditional chemotherapy AND integrative oncology treatment that he needed. It had been three months already, and our boy is simply a miracle. (AND we had our reimbursement from Embrace before our credit card statement with the surgery on it even posted!) We couldn’t have done any of this without Embrace.
