Poor response time after submitting claims.
I have submitted claims and after two months have not received payment. There seems to be excuses to delay resolution of claims. Not very impressed or happy about the reasons for delay. I was told the had a large number of claims and could not adhere to the 30 day processing time. This is unacceptable. When premiums are due, the company expects to be paid promptly, so why should claims be delayed?

Horrible customer service has really gone way downhill in the past 1.5 years.
I have been with Nationwide, previously VPI, since 1998 for 3 Dobermans. I used to rave about the company but there has been a drastic change for the worse over the past 1.5 years. Claim payment times have gone from 2 weeks to over 30 days. Claims that are submitted get "lost" and not entered into their system on a timely basis. They claim they never get faxed claims even when I have fax receipts showing that same were received. When I call reps are rude and provide incorrect info. I will never insure another dog with Nationwide.

Better communication & faster turnaround time for claims
I switched to Nationwide thru my employer. The insurance is good, however the claim processing time is very slow. On my previous insurance we got the claim within 3 to 5 days. Now it takes over a month after dishing money out of my own pocket which is ridiculous! The other issue I have is if there’s an issue with the claim submission you get no feedback from your customer service people. I had to email several times to find out what was going on with the status of my claim before I got a straight answer. I had to seek out the answer instead of Nationwidecbeing proactive and updating me on status.

Slow claim review process
Took two months to review my claim and get a payment. Slow communication and unhelpful customer service agents who are only empowered enough to read of the same information you can find online yourself

Emma Doing Great - Test Came Back Negative

It took over 3 weeks
It took over 3 weeks to process an ongoing medication payment of $35. This is a very long payment process and trupanion has deteriorated greatly in turn around payment process.

It's so easy to submit a claim via email. Confirmation of receipt of the invoice is quick & payment is just as quick. I'm always impressed with the turnaround.

My claims are always processed quickly
My claims are always processed quickly and correctly. I have never had to call to question a payment. Plus Trupanion always keeps me informed by sending an email letting me know that they received my claim and when my claim is finalized.
